Dave (Muzzey) and Rick (Hall),
Thanks for the info - Dave, got your message, and will be in touch. Have your address punched into the GPS and will come by your place to say hello - but will phone first - maybe Saturday or Sunday afternoon/evening (have morning obligations both days). Rick, will follow Davo on the WEB - hope you meet up with him.

Hi everyone, I am at Portland OR arrived in just after 11pm Thursday at the airport, in bed by 1am.
All is good, bike is back together and looking like a rally bike again. I leave Seaside OR at 7am PDT 16th Aug eta for Lincoln is 6-7pm 17th. Looks like I am staying at Chris's place at Lincoln thanks to the work by Rick behind the scenes.
Great bike, great roads, great people. Who could ask for more.
take care, keen to get riding now

Welp, he's moving. Near as I can figure, he spent an hour (+/-) at the Mickey-Dee's in Seaside, OR before departing from there at just about 7:00 PM, PDT. If all goes according to plan, I should meet him in Cheyenne for a wee bit of moral support. Will try to snap a pix or two, but given he's on a mission from God... everyone, please check my math skills...if he left oregon on sunday (yesterday) at 7 AM (10 AM eastern), then that puts him here tuesday (tomorrow) morning roughly the same time...10ish AM. RIGHT??!! i thought he was anticipating being here around 10 PM, not AM. geez, did i miss something? AM would throw a wrench in the works...actually, it would throw work in the works.
also, if anyone in the area wants to come by and meet dave and hang out, just let me know and ill get you directions to my place (new road, not in gps's yet). dont know what the plan is while hes here, but wednesday evening should be open...just doing oil change afaik.

I think your math is OK, but yer AM/PM indicator is off. Davo left Sunday PM, should arrive in Lincoln Nebraska today (PM), and South Carolina sometime before midnight tomorrow. Rick

On the Spot tracking, is his most current position where the mc is or is it the numbered marker?
Is there a time lag on the updates or is it within a few minutes of real time when it updates?
Thanks.

Is there a time lag on the updates or is it within a few minutes of real time when it updates?
A friend in Nebraska has a SPOT tracker, and we have noticed a time lag between updates, sometimes quite significant. I noted one instance where it didn't update for 2 hours. Maybe clearing cache and cookies would have helped, didn't try it.

Thanks for the info on the SPOT. I'll check where he is when I get home from work and if the timing is right I'll try to catch up to him on I80 west of Lincoln NE.
Edited 6:24pm - Looks like Spot isn't updating or something. Last location just a few miles west of North Platte. Popular State Patrol radar area, hope he isn't sitting in a patrol car.

SPOT seems to 'snapshot' every 15 minutes, depending. How often the website is updated though. Anyway, we met just east of Cheyenne at about 1:10 PM MDT I rode with him to Kimball, NE for fuel. Parted our ways near Sydney. Good mate, talks weird, *very* efficient at fuel stops. I think he'll get to SC w/in the allotted time. Attached pix, rather non descriptive, it is the WY/NE flat lands after all Rick

I just called Chris Baum in Lincoln, Davo's not there yet, though Chris says it's a bit early according to his guestimate.
Let's hope the SPOT blew off near North Platte, or the battery puked.

Rick Might be the battery, or maybe the fire eagle automatic update has stopped working - apparently ( http://jasonjonas.org/spot/about.jsp#eagle) you need to sync it manually every 600 miles, and he hasn't done that since Portland. Great to see the pics, the road looks great - and there's another one over to Davo's left, just in case! :-) I just called Chris Baum in Lincoln, Davo's not there yet, though Chris says it's a bit early according to his guestimate.

COG Nation,
Davo has arrived in Lincoln, NE at 8:53pm CT tonight. He took a quick shower, a tall glass of ice-water and went to bed. I am to wake him up and make sure that he is on the road by midnight (CT). I will add some picture on the next posting when Davo hits the road again.

COG Nation,
Davo has departed our home in Lincoln, NE at 12:25am CT. Davo got in a good 3 hour power nap and is doing well and is heading East again. The Baum family wishes Davo best of luck in his Concours IBA 50CC adventure. I will add pictures tomorrow morning.

He's through Nashville and heading East on I-40 towards Knoxville.
I like those driving lights mounted just below the mirrors on Roo. Would love to hear more details about them.

Looks like he's going to pull up to the Atlantic any minute (8:25 PM EDT). Very impressive! I bet there are a lot of us watching SPOT like a photo finish :-) Brian Welp, he's moving.
