The 2021 Wildflower Rally is currently scheduled for March 26-28th 2021 at the River Inn Resort and Conference Center near Hunt TX. This is the weekend before Easter weekend. I tried to avoid the Moto GP at COTA but since they don't have dates yet, there may end up being a conflict. Sorry. The rooms being held are below the dam. There are no two bedrooms left to the best of my knowledge below the dam. If you absolutely need a two bedroom, ask if they have any above the dam. Most one bedrooms have a pull out sofa bed as well. One bedrooms are at the weekday rate of $95 per night, and the two Bedrooms are $125 per night. Booking online will not automatically give you the COG rate so call them at (830) 238-4226
website---> https://www.riverinnresort.com/
Rates are good for Thursday the 25th as well if you choose to arrive a day early, as many do.
Cog Registration for this event will not be open until January 2021. I want to wait until then to see how this Covid stuff continues to play out before we decide if there will be food service at the event. If we do have food service it may be only on Saturday night. Perhaps on Friday night as well if we find a way to do it safely. I will not be providing a breakfast on Saturday morning so bring some coffee for yourself. The rooms have enough utensils and appliances to prepare yourself small meals.
If we decide no food service, we may just have evening large group rides (to hopefully deter deer strikes) into Kerrville to go to restaurants. Registration fees will be in accordance with the amount of food service at the event ($0.00-$30.00), more info in January 2021.
I hope to see you there! Until then please be safe.

Pamela and I will try our best to attend! Stay safe and healthy and be ready for this!

I think we all have learned to live with the situation of SARS-CoV-2 and can make this happen safely. Gov. Abbott has also promised no lock downs and it is likely that the assembly size for events in TX will be large enough for our attendance.

We can ensure extra sanitizer and cleaning wipes are available for all to wipe down rooms when you check in.

We should have some great goodies to give away to attendees.

Oh....and yes great riding for all!

Registration is open to sign up for this event. Since we have no confirmed food service, registration is free.

Food provision is still up in the air due to covid concerns and we will collect for those desiring food on site if we determine a safe way to provide it. It is for sure that I will not be preparing breakfast on Saturday morning this year so bring coffee or what you need to get you going on Saturday morning.
For those not familiar with the venue, each room has utensils and appliances to prepare small meals. Nearest store and restaurants (2) are approx. 7 miles away in Hunt TX* with the largest selection of restaurants/fast food/groceries being in Kerrville approx. 17-18 miles distant.

I'm all signed up. Hopefully COVID will be on the downturn by them. Was kind of sad last year as only 4 of us made the ride. Still had a good time.

If there is anyone that wanted a two bedroom unit below the dam (the COG end of the building) for this event and was unable to obtain one please PM me as I have one available on the second floor below the dam. I'll be changing it for a studio in the near future.

edit: change made to my reservation 2-2-21, 2 bedroom upstairs below the dam is available.

Crazy GoldWing Mike and I will take it. I’ll register ASAP.

C'mon folks. We need some more Riders.
It's an ideal ride for the wife's as they love the Motel.
===This ride was our first COG event 21 years ago and Judy likes to go whenever we can...
Weather should be great..

Ride safe, Ted

Pamela and I will be there on Thursday and looking forward to this.

Now 27.

Who's riding from DFW?
Hi! Mike and I are riding down Friday morning. We plan on going through Junction and hitting 335 S and then 337 E to Medina before heading up 16 N to Kerrville for supplies. Making a big day of it since we will miss being there Thursday evening. Anyone is more than welcome to join. We will most likely meet in west Fort Worth somewhere at a reasonable time. Pace will be “Spirited”.

Hey guys. Just a heads up. 337 between Medina and Vanderpool has been closed for last several months. I was out there a month ago and it was still closed. Will try to get out there this Sunday to see if this is still the case. I also rode up to Enchanted Rock a week after the snow/ice storm. You will not believe the tree damage from the ice storm. Big mature oak trees are now nothing but trunk. All the limbs were broken off by ice. Pretty amazing. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Steve

Leaving DFW on Thursday morning and taking the back roads through Cleburne. Meridian, Hamilton, Star, Lometa, Cherokee. Llano, Castell, Doss, Harper, and missing Fredericksburg traffic. Have some new Road 5 GT 55 tahrs to scrub down. Will update with weather forecast when have I high confidence the model(s) data are converging to likely temps/precip.

BE THERE OR BE SQUARE !!!!!! gr33nmAn

Coggers I have met Cheers. Coggers I have not Cheers. Looks like this will be fun. I have never been to this part of the states. Signed up but having trouble getting room. Left message yesterday and no returned call, called today and not able to book. They will call me back tomorrow

If anyone hasn't booked a room, Steve is going to have to cancel and his room is available.
Contact me, and I can give you the particulars.

Ride safe, Ted

Update; Room has been released.

At this time plan is to ride down Friday - perhaps with Nottacop.

Will advise if earlier. Thanks.
ArJay2, Mike and I plan on making a day of it on Friday. Can’t come down on Thursday. 😐. We plan on meeting around the SW part of DFW and riding to Junction. We will then ride down to 41 East to 335 the south to 337 then east to Medina. We will go up 16 to Kerrville and get supplies before going to the River in the resorts in conference center. Anyone is more than welcome to tag along. See y’all Friday early evening.

Andre, as I mentioned previously, 337 East to Medina is currently closed. Construction is supposed to end on 3/31, so maybe they will be ahead of schedule. I would check before you leave DFW.

Good point Steve, according to Drive Texas it's closed for a bridge replacement at Mill Creek. Perhaps just north of Vanderpool take 187 north to 39 and swing by the River Inn before going to town to get supplies. The other way is through Tarpley on 470 to 16, although I love FM 470 at speed, it is a long way to go for groceries. :)

Sorry guys I didn’t read all the posts before posting. We most likely will take the shortcut the first day and then do that Saturday or something. Looks fun.

Latest model runs show precipitation ejecting east from DFW down to AUS/SAT mid morning. NAM is a little earlier along with the GFS. Euro shows main rain leaving Dallas County about 1000. While there could be a little light rain and drizzle left over, it will quickly dry from west to east.

After the early Thursday rain, it looks dry through the weekend with slightly above normal temps.

Looks like we miss the frequent three day frontal passage cycle with a nice ride home on Sunday in Texas

Overall, great riding weather for the Wildflower, just remember to stay hydrated in the afternoon as dew points will still be in high 50s/low 60s.

The pandemic is not over, so let's have reasonable precautions that you are comfortable with and all please stay healthy and safe.

Hill Country got a nice rain last night, so hopefully this will "perk" the wild flowers up a bit. Awful dry in and around Kerrville.

Looking forward to the nice riding weather and no chance of rain for a change.

Steve

It is called the "Wildflower rally", but I get your point Ted. Flowers are just a perk, don't need them to have a good time.

Steve

There are great prizes for Members/Attendees unless you live in Houston, last name starts with an "A", and you also drive a Model T :ROFLMAO:

I was watching that supercell on Level II radar and it had an impressive signature on reflectivity and velocity. Goldwaithe got hammered by ping pong ball sized hail and a brief tornado.

Getting ready to head out.......ride free and safely all.

Here at the River Inn, I think most of the heavy rain went by to the west and north of here...I heard some noise around 1 AM but then I fell back asleep. 😴😴😴😴😴

It sure is bright and sunny right now.

...hmmm maybe it rained a little more than I thought it did. My bike cover was all shifted and a pocket formed and filled with water to make a small bird bath..it's never done that before.

Home from the Wildflower ride.
Not many wildflowers, {Ok, NONE} but a good time was had by all.
Riding was awesome! Visiting with friends was better!
Hope to see some of you again on April 30 in Clinton Arkansas.

Ride safe, Ted

I'm home as well. Normally folks don't care whether trailer folks make it home, but since my trailer was only an inch or so off the ground there seemed to be some concern. It scraped once at a gas station.

Thanks to Troy Minton and Pamela & Craig Green for all the support!👏👏👏
Thanks for everybody that attended. What a great bunch of people. (y)

Hopefully next year we'll be able to have at least one dinner maybe even two and a breakfast....maybe. 🤞👍

Sorry I missed everyone. I got some great pictures Saturday, just not of Concours. :(

Sorry it worked out that way Ed, thanks for making the drive over..hopefully next year you'll be able to come ride with us. 👍

On Saturday TXMOTOFOTO got a few of Craig and Pamela with Craig giving the salute. I didn't recognize any others on Saturday.

I saw one of a C10 guy with a Mohawk on his helmet, but I assumed he wasn't one of us?

However they got a bunch of us on Friday (too many to list): https://www.txmotofoto.com/Photos/2021/Friday-March-26-2021/Sport-Sport-Touring/

Hopefully so.

For the Concourier, the photos need to be free of watermarks and not encumbered by a copyright unless I can get a release from the photographer. It looks like all of the links were from professional photographers — and they're great shots, the type I hoped to get.

I set up where you and I discussed, but didn't realize that y'all decided to avoid that area until Ted told me this morning. It was actually pretty quiet there until about 11:30 a.m.

I got in a good 250 mile day, which was fun.

Enjoyed visiting with some folks I hadn't seen in a while, and of course riding the Hill Country.

Had a windy but uneventful ride back to DFW on Sunday. NO RAIN. Had to be a first!

Adios until next time.
