Anyone seen a tire do this?

Here I thought I was being proactive and tire shopping early...
Any ideas what happened to my front tire?

I had that happen to my tires prior to improving the suspension.

New tire ?
Unless your old tire was doing something like that it wouldn't be a suspension issue . That is a defective tire if its new .

Sorry was busy getting the bike home.
It’s a 2017 year I’ve had since new oct 2018.
Stock tires that came on it 7500 miles.
I haven’t touched the suspension and fork oil is what came in it...

If those are the stock Bridgestone BT021's (and they do look like them) then they are crap and most of them do exactly that.
Ditch them and fit your choice of Michelin PR4GT, PR5GT, Pirelli Angel GT or GT2, or any of several other tyres that I am sure others will now chime in with.
They will give you better dry grip, way better wet grip, better mileage and better feel.
Kawasaki fit Bridgecraps because they are Japanese, not because they are good.
I'm told some of their later tyres are good, but the front BT021 is barely decent for the first 3000 miles and then goes downhill rapidly.
I have run PR3, Angel GT, and currently have PR4 (non-GT) and have never had any of the problems I had with the OEM BT021.
I'm getting 14k miles out of my front PR4s and 10k from the rears.

I was in the process of tire shopping and that was the plan... Figured I had a little bit more time...

That sure looks like a radial with too much air.
I have checked them religiously try to keep 42 front and rear cold... and typically the tpms never agrees with my gauge. I’ve seen as low as 39 indicated on the bike when I know it’s 42. Could I have lost a little disconnecting my pump sure. But yesterday the bike was showing 44 front and rear all day. I would think for a tire to do this it would have to be a lot more than just 2-3psi over inflated...

Yes, but not as bad as yours.  If you got 7500 on the stock tire, consider it done and get yourself some new tires.

I noticed my 2015 wore the front tire faster, the rear was good but the front was toast.
I watch tire pressure closely.
My worst mileage tire was a rear ContiMotin less the 4200 miles to the cords mid tour :'(

Same happened to my new 2012 bike. I too was quite attentive to air pressure and it still happened. I changed them before they got that bad.

My riding style was different back then, I always thought it may have contributed. Used to be heavy on front break entering a turn. After completing the Total Control class my riding style has changed completely over the years

Yeah, I think they all do that.  Looks like you trail brake a lot.  I only got ~3k out of my OEM front.  They were triangular slicks with tread in the middle at 3k.

My OE tires did this as well. I left the suspension adj factory except I turned up preload a bit. I got about 5-6k out of them though. 2nd set were Angel's, didn't do it, 3rd set are RS'3 aren't doing it. Recently I had a suspension specialist adj my rebound and preload,  kinda futile as the springs are weak as shit but whatever,  it's better than what it was. Currently at about 7k on RS's, the center is just starting to flatten out.

Thats one UGLY looking tire
I personally wouldn't ride on that one
The Dunlop RS 2's are cheap these days and quite nice.

No I trailered it home and got new tires....

I replaced a Michelin front tire that looked just like it except the sides were nearly smooth. I hope the Conti Motion I just installed does not do that. This morning made 250 miles on it, and so far it has made my new to me Connie feel even better!  :great:

Enjoy the ride,
Jon

My Avon storms would do that and was told I like to hang the turns too much. GT pilot 5 on now and nothing so far.

I've had tires do this in varying degrees of severity.

My opinion is that its due to the dual compound construction of sport touring tires along with the rounded profile of motorcycle tires.

I've thought this as well. Obviously varies by tire. Pilot power, RS-1, and Angel GT (non a-spec) fronts all did this to varying degrees for me with handling getting weird as they got more square. Last front I had was a Shinko 011 (single compound) that handled well and stayed alot rounder.  Trying a Angel ST front (also single compound) now but there going to get scarce so I'll probably go back to the 011 front. 011 rear got almost to 7k miles. Front still had about 1-2k left when I changed the set. Might try the 016 rear with 011 front. Frankly the matched Verge 011 set handled very well using 180-55 rear as there's no 190-55.
