Bike Vandalized & Tipped Over

Not a happy camper, as 2 nights ago someone attempted to steal my bike.  But, thanks to steering lock and extra cable through the wheels, was not able to roll it away.  Appears that pissed them off enough to tip it over onto the right side.  Damaged the front fender and scratched the outer RH bag, but broke the 'orange tab' that flips out when locking the bag with the handle/lever.

I am not able to locate a spare part to replace the orange tab/lever that secures the bag on the upper side.  Hoping I don't have to replace the entire locking assembly or bag.  What a pain in the ass.....

Unless there are other signs of attempted theft, I would say it looks more like either someone bumped it over or else the wind tipped it over. You'd be amazed how much force the wind develops when ya have a bike cover on it.
Whatever happened it will probably be cheaper to get a used bag off ebay and either use that or swap the lock or cover over.
Good luck and don't be too downhearted. :great:

+1

It also appears the street the bike was parked on angled up towards the side stand, serving to stand the bike up a bit more than normal.

Thanks for the replies, but it was definitely vandalized and not the wind.  The night previous to them knocking over the bike they tried moving the bike but didn't get far with the steering being locked.  They also stole the bike cover.  Needless to say, the bike will no longer be parked in this area.  The world we live in...……….

Sorry about your bad luck.  I've had my share of experience with thieves.  It sucks!  Here's the pic of the bike Todd is referring to.

Bummer, sorry to see/hear this! Looks like you're in the WA area- hopefully it wasn't in the Seattle/Capitol Hill area, I've heard lots of vandalism lately in the news and not just businesses but houses & neighborhoods.

As for parts, check out the the C14 for sale area, but also the other forum. Ebay and Partzilla are other sites to check.
