There are 2 major construction jobs going on in the area. If you are coming from the west on Hwy 12 you want to turn coming into Clarkston on the Red Wolf Bridge and take HWY 128 to North Lewiston. They are re-doing the intersection on the bridge coming into Lewiston.
The second one is between Peck and Orofino. They are rebuilding the road and there can be up to 45 min. waits in the afternoon. The good news is you get to take the Cavendish grade to get around it. Take Hwy 3 about 12 miles east of Lewiston. Turn right on the far side of Kendrick on P1. That will take you to Cavendish and the Cavendish Grade into Orofino. The grade is one of the most fun and scenic roads in the area.
