Carb float bowl gasket

Removed float bowl to clean But the o-ring gasket is not formed. I’m having trouble keeping it in place to reinstall it. What can be done to hold it in place?

A little grease in the channel should hold it . I have used dielectric grease as it should have no adverse effect on the rubber .

Put the o-ring gasket in the freezer. Get it cold and it will lay right in the channel.
Will this work with those pesky rascals that do not hold their form and shape? If so that is easy peasy enough. Thanks!

You can also make a paste from everyday face soap and put it in the groove to hold the gasket in place.
Wipe away excess and let it semi-dry.
,,,,, (Just don't leave too much excess as it could cause problems if it gets into the float bowl)

You may ask why do the extra work..
The reason for the extra work is; Soap works as an extra sealer because gasoline doesn't melt the soap.
It could seal without the O-ring.

Ride safe, Ted
