Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night Concours Owners Group Industry Members and Friends with spare parts: As per approval by the COG Board of Directors and the powers that be within COG, the Concours Owners Group Membership Drive (that includes the giving away of a 1986 ZG1000 Concours to one lucky winner) is asking for your support. Support is not required, it

Good idea, maybe an email direct to industry members would catch more eyes. Photos

Jim, we all applaud your effort on this project, which has ramped up to make this bike project a special one indeed. Someone will get a very nice 86 Concours by just signing up a new member before the national rally. Steve Sefsick is in the process of doing the carbs to his critical specs, and others are getting behind this project as well. What a sweet bike this will be. I signed up new members at Daytona, and watch Calvin Underwood take the time to approach a C10 rider with club brochures and a handshake. That's about all it takes to get a new owner/rider into the fold. A good service to the rider, and helping COG grow. Thanks for all you do.

It looks like there is contact info and snail mail address on his web site. http://www.millerized.com/ Photos

Since there's little activity here, I figure you might want to watch the other thread...over on the 'evil' and active forum.. http://forum.concours.org/index.php?topic=67152.0 The address to send is/was in the original post. http://www.millerized.com I'll be in the garage

The list of folks who've donated cash/product. So far: Tires: Purchased with a cash donation from HVMP (Hudson Valley Motorsports Parts) Bar End Weights: HVMP (Hudson Valley Motorsports Parts) Petcock: Rev Rider Backrest, adapter and pad: Jim Culp Extended backrest bracket and Valve Cover Block-Off Plates: Chris Lillie Carb Work/Exhaust sprockets: Steve in Sunny Florida/Shoodabeen Engineering Carb Kits sent to Steve to do his magic, and pulse cover gaskets: Great and Powerful Murph of MurphKits SPOOFAK: BigJoeVa's kind donation to the cause. Stick Coil harness: T-Cro. All you folks that have bought trailer hitches and pegs this year...a large amount of the funding has come from you. I haven't gotten a cent of the 'profits' on the Millerized products yet. Every bit has gone back into this bike. COGDOM: This is YOUR bike, I'm just polishing the fenders. (if I missed anyone, please remind me---) There are a few folks who have been kind enough to let me buy their product, but this is cash out of my pocket and not a donated items. I'm not going to mention them any more than I'd mention the powdercoat, paint, hardware or beer suppliers. Cash sales, not donations.

Nice list Jim, looks like the bike is really taking shape, got any new pictures?

Jim, I would love to see the pics but I too do not have an account on the other site. How about putting them in Webshots or similar? Greg H from Mass Connie Droppers Anonymous Awards Dude COG# 7010,a Tracey CDA 120 (2.0) 99 Connie "Herrin Christabelle" 05 Ninja 250

Pics of the bike project look great, but all those black and white photos remind me too much of winter. "If it hasn't killed me yet, it's runnin out of time" COG # 8062 AMA # 1084053 ROMA or Scarlet harlot acording to my wife

Thanks Jim the bike looks great, your really giving the new oven a work out with the powder coatings. I can't wait to see the finished product, wish I was going to the National but employment issues are preventing me from attending. Great job though !!

There will be a ton of photos from the Nationals. Guarantee it. The paint job, if it works out right, will be something you'd see on $50K custom bike....IF IT WORKS OUT RIGHT. Otherwise, it'll be beige primer with a clear coat :( Electrical is in/on. Few other items taken care of. Tank stripped. Lots to go......miles to go before I sleep. 12 More photo's tonight http://s835.photobucket.com/albums/zz271/millerized/ , need to get ready for tomorrow's drive to PA. Y'all sleep well..... http://www.millerized.com I'll be in the garage

If'n ya get bored, there are a few more photo's over on the photobucket page. Included are 2 teasers with the paint that came in yesterday. The 2 other components aren't going to show themselves until the nationals. But, for lack of a better term, spectacular comes to mind. http://s835.photobucket.com/albums/zz271/millerized/ (the orange is a pearl, and will be transparent over, well, what I put it over.) http://www.millerized.com I'll be in the garage

Jim, looks great. Orange is my favorite color. Steve (Johnnylunchbox) and I really enjoyed talking about project bike with you in Somerset. You really made us aware of just how much of your time, effort and $$ you are putting into this project. Your loyalty and commitment to COG is outstanding. You're a good man, although I think you might deny that. I'm glad we were able to help out. I wish we were going to the national to see the bike in person, but that's not happening so pictures will have to do. Thanks for all you're doing.

Now a rolling chassis! Working on the engine now, pieces and parts. http://s835.photobucket.com/albums/zz271/millerized/

Engine is in. Now comes the multitude of other stuff that was waiting for that milestone. Hint to others....the motors are heavy ;) and since you can't really strip them down to install (cylinder head is the front mounting point) they stay heavy http://www.millerized.com I'll be in the garage

Kudos to all your hard work there Millerize! Not totally in agreement with you on the engine. Its actually pretty easy to install the engine without the head and barrel and then install them after the crank case is fitted. You just need to pop a support under the oil pan :)

I appreciate it folks, but the window is now closed. We're finished accepting pieces and parts. If I don't have it by now, either through direct purchase or someone leaving their bike parked in the wrong spot too long, we don't need it. My time here is going to be sparse over the next few days. You'll see a photo or 2 of the finished rolling running critter in a week or so, but won't see the final thingy until it shows up in Tomah on the 12th. So, if you want updates, need a visual before hand, or just like watching guys on webcams, hit my News page....I'll be in the garage. http://www.millerized.com I'll be in the garage

Problems.... Almost... Fixed, tho. Leak in head gasket into the cam chain tunnel. Started taking the head off (since the bike was almost fully assembled, this is a bit time consuming) last night when I got home at 7. When I dragged myself into bed at 1:45, it was ALL back together and holding pressure with no leaks. Thanks to Steve and Rich for their late night consults. We'll be starting it tonight, or at least troubleshooting the electric ;) to find out why if it doesn't turn over :). The battery looks to have given up the ghost (it IS 5yrs old), so I'll be picking up one either tonight or tomorrow. If you want your first and only look at it in it's current config (either primed or unpainted) head on over to the North/South ride this weekend in Hampstead, MD. The bike will be there Saturday night, leaving Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon, the final parts will get primed, with paint starting Monday after work. Once I start spraying, all photo updates stop. Can't have anyone seeing the final color before it shows up in WI :eg: You wanna see it in color, you need to take a ride to WI Almost there, folks....almost there. THEN I can get some sleep. http://www.millerized.com I'll be in the garage

Jim I don't know how anyone can repay you for all this work. Great job. Please let me know the beverage of your choice and I will have the cooler stocked at the campground. Thanks and Thanks again

IT LIVES!!!! Fired right up.....first time in almost 5 years. Wow....it's come so far....so far to go. First time this week I'll be in bed by midnight. Tomorrow night is another story....and the next...and the one after that....for the next 14 days. Night all! http://www.millerized.com I'll be in the garage

Awesome, that's got to be rewarding, Jimmy.
Yeah....about that. Lets just hope the winner "does" something with it. Opportunity still exists to put COG out in the limelight with a huge donation to a worthwhile charity, instead of possibly padding one individuals feedback and PayPal account on eBay. But, we'll discuss that when the time comes. I know one possible winner's wife is going to be very happy with her own bike....but that's the only specifics I know of any of the hopefully multitude of possible winners. Time will tell if this was just a costly personal adventure, or the pinnacle of COG's 15 minutes of fame. Handing of a $15K+ check to a worthwhile charity would surely make news somewhere. :) Seeing this being parted out on eBay would surely make news in my garage. http://www.millerized.com I'll be in the garage

Primer is on, some pieces are going to get paint tonight. First of 4 stages will be the "Carbon Fiber Metallic". What happens after that is both a secret, and for it to turn out right under my hand, a miracle. We'll let you see it.... .....on the 12th. ;) I have a feeling I'll be in the garage. http://www.millerized.com I'll be in the garage
