Coolant is Slick

I purchased my 2002 C10 in February, 2021. First bike in 35 years. On May 1, 2021, I rode it around town and noted it was overheating, so I added coolant. I failed to notice that it was draining excess coolant, until I was driving it onto a Moto-Dolly in my garage. The rear tire got in some of the coolant, and as it started to go down, my boot got in the coolant and it fell on the left side and partially under my SUV that was parked next to it. Some scrapes on the mid fairing and some red paint from the Moto-Dolly. Thanks to other COG members, purchased replacement fairing parts and added some tip over bars. Note to self, "Coolant is SLICK". COG number 13348

Thank You for sharing your experience and reminding all the slippery nature of coolant / importance of awareness of conditions around whenever moving our beloved machines.

@cameron_talbert5212 It’s official, you have earned and are presented CDA # 567.

Glad to hear your machine sustained minimal damage and thankfully sounds no injury for you. Drops in close proximity to other objects (motorcycle dolly, vehicles) always raises the possibility of injury.

Welcome to the CDA !

This I did not know.

Is this a generally accepted / universal track rule?
If it is a real serious track event with mostly racers or burgeoning ones, they used to require it. Nowadays most 'run what you ride'/recreational ones I have done do not require it, but encourage it. Actual racing or sanctioned events it is not allowed. Very slick and harder to clean up. So I was talking about racing, and while there is no actual series where a Connie is raced...it may happen. Heck, we have HD/Indian baggers duking it out and a C-14/FJR series would take far less modifications to make it fun!!

My track experience is novice class can run coolant. Once you move to intermediate or advsnced you cannot run glycol based coolant. Water with water wetter or the like is the only thing acceptable.
