Hand shields...

Big Wheel
Hi All, I would like to install some grip shields for cold weather riding. I prefer to stay "passive" with the cold weather stuff and avoid added electrical accesories like heated grips. Has anyone found a set/kit that fits the 95 Connie well and looks reasonably nice too? I have a wide Clearview shield and the fairing extenders installed. I stay fairly warm with the exception of my hands (the worst), top of my thighs and back. I have some lexan cut out at home to extend the extenders about an inch...just too many other things on the "list" at the moment...maybe soon. I would appreciate all opinions on this course....shields vs. heated grips. THX Ralph :)

1 word. Hippo hands. ;) http://www.hippohands.com/ EDIT TO ADD: I once used a set of handguards for a big V-Strom. They take a little finnagling to get right, but not difficult at all. Here's a set on a FJR http://www.fjrtech.com/getdbitem.cfm?item=30

I now am the proud owner of a set of HippoHands. I too recommend these fine devices to be installed. Sound too much like a poor ad? Well they work, easy to install and remove, but more importantly easy to pull your hands out and put in without worrying about any "reacquisition issues". If you plan on riding in the winter these are the cats meow. AKA "2linby" That's 2-lin-by folks! I vote for the Hippo Hands too. Add some grip heaters and you are good down to some REALLY cold temps.

I'm going for the hand guard, if they ever come in.....I will post installation and pics when done. Dave Muzzey St. Charles, IL COG#7957 '01 Connie

Another happy owner of Hippo Hands... Easy on easy off and they work down to some low temps. Yuma, Summer in Yuma is not hell, but hell is a local call :) 2006 Connie http://community.webshots.com/user/Lateck?vhost=community
