I came to own my '93 from the better end of a backyard barter. Back in '16, I found a black Concours on Craigslist. I don't remember what he had said about it, problem-wise. I brought only a rag and my Polly-Pocket jump pack to inspect it. I almost bent a rod from it being hydrolocked with gas, due to the infamous petcock issue I didn't know about.
Started it up once the piston drained, ran great, much to the surprise of the owner. I traded him on the spot for my '77 KZ650, and off I went.
Here we are, 30k miles later.
 
KZ650 is a neat bike, but I think you got the better part of the deal. My son's college roommate had one in nice shape, not sure what happened to it. I never did hear it run, wish I had.
