the Reviews threads, have always been a "locked upon post" system, ever since it got out of hand with spiteful wars..Why are some threads being locked with no explanation? One was a review of Steve's flash and was locked immediately. Another was someone saying it was a test to see if his posting went OK. Maybe some other people would like to try that too. What's up????
who said you couldn't? A review is just that, be it positive about something you bought, or voicing your dissatisfaction with it as purchased... nobody said you can't.... you just write your review, and post it... and then it is locked; for a reason that this is not a point of discussion, just a review.. saves space, and prevents all the b/s about "my xxxx is better than your xxxx..." back and forth angry ranting. So why can't one post a negative review? A review is a review. I would like to know if something was not good in someones opinion.
You have a point, but remember when we had all the "whose flash is best" drama on the forum? IIRC it got pretty heated. So why can't one post a negative review? A review is a review. I would like to know if something was not good in someones opinion.
What Rich said.who said you couldn't? A review is just that, be it positive about something you bought, or voicing your dissatisfaction with it as purchased... nobody said you can't.... you just write your review, and post it... and then it is locked; for a reason that this is not a point of discussion, just a review.. saves space, and prevents all the b/s about "my xxxx is better than your xxxx..." back and forth angry ranting.
I quote from the rules:who said you couldn't? A review is just that, be it positive about something you bought, or voicing your dissatisfaction with it as purchased... nobody said you can't.... you just write your review, and post it... and then it is locked; for a reason that this is not a point of discussion, just a review.. saves space, and prevents all the b/s about "my xxxx is better than your xxxx..." back and forth angry ranting.
That's talking about comparisons. Not only. "Any DIRECT or comparative review"
"I bought X and here's why it's awesome" is okay. Yes, this is OK.
"I bought Y and here's why I didn't like it" is also okay. Not Ok according to the rule. Read it. "emphasizing the positives rather than the negatives"
"I bought X and it's way better than that piece of garbage Y" is NOT okay. Correct, but it should be OK.
I was just reading this morning a thread on another forum where the OP had to restate at least four times what the original purpose of the thread was. It came down to something very similar to what I quoted above. The members who had a better idea than what the OP was asking about, almost completely drowned out the discussion of what the original post was about. I can see reviews going the same way easily."I bought X and it's way better than that piece of garbage Y" is NOT okay.
