Looking for a power reduction

Ok Ok Ok
Everyone wants more power, ECU Hammer time Flash, Black widow headers, 95 octane Etc Etc.
Due to a rash of speeding tickets I'm looking for less power.
I'm think about disconnecting 1 or 2 spark plug leads.

Is this going to damage the Ign system?

Or stuff a old pair of CLEAN socks in the airfilter?
I've tried dragging my feet, too hard on the boots.

nickrides,

Your absolutely right. This bike is easy to get speeding tickets on. It rides so smoothly you can't even, "feel" how fast you are moving and the power is always there. I use an after market curise control (I have used a throttle lock and finally MC cruise, however there are others solutions available for less $$$). With cruise control I retain the thrill of twisting the throttle and unleashing the amazing capability of this bike, and I can still set the cruise control on those sections where my baser instincts would have me receive a $200+ performance award.

This is my 2 cents worth FWIW.

First thing I got was a radar detector, it comes on with the ignition, on all the time.
I don't leave home without it. has saved me here in So Cal. every other ride.

Nick in case you weren’t joking: to your original question I don’t think you’ll hurt the ignition by disconnecting two coils - you will though have a serious problem with fuel getting into your oil, hydro-lock, massive backfiring.

End result will be a terribly inefficient engine as you’ll be loading engine with stress to turnover all mass with half the cylinders contributing not to mention compressing loads of unburied fuel. Really bad idea.

There are vehicles out there designed to run in a similar manner as you are suggesting but this requires proper fuel and ignition control unavailable to your our C-14.

A Radar Detector and a cruise control sound like real good ideas.
Have to look into that soon.
Maybe cut back on the double lattes too.
I'm NOT trading it in, I got it just the way I like it, by adding a few farkles.

I suggest you loosen the throttle cables.
ie; Ya can't accell if you can't twist the throttle open..

NOTE:
If you add a radar detector, hook the wiring to your ignition system so that it cuts the spark when the detector picks up something.
It won't slow you in time to not get a ticket, but with the ignition killed, you can't run and won't get the additional tickets..

Glad I could help............
Ride safe, Ted

You don't need a power reduction. You need to mount the C14 version of the KLR milk crate on the rack. EDIT: This gives you a perfct excuse, and you may get a police escort.

Or, or, orrr, how about the "C14 version of the KLR milk crate on the rack", and the parachute?

You could tell them that you were dropped from a aircraft for an "emergency" delivery! o_O
Put a brain in the container and say it's for Harry. {They'll understand}..

I will trade you my C10 for your C14.

Problem solved.

You're welcome.

PM me for my contact info and to arrange shipping.

Contact the motorcycle safety training folks, they probably have a good used Honda 250 Rebel that will fix your problem.

Buy a Harley, you won't have to worry about speeding , unless you spend 10K$ extra in parts. 🤣

Don't do anything different. When you get the max number of points on your license and one more ticket will
have you loose your license - you will slow down to avoid loosing it permanently for both bikes and 4 wheel vehicles! :)

My Rostra cruise control and the accurate speed readout/current speed limit display on my GPS has saved me from many more tickets than my Radar detector ever could. The radar detector is much easier to install however.

If you have a phone mount, run the Waze navigation app. Its very good about letting you know about police ahead of you, more effective than any fuzzbuster I've ever used
