I lost my shifter bolt on a long ride and I'll never again forget the importance of that bolt!! It holds the shifter lever and without it you cannot shift!
I'm not sure how I found it but I got the Murphs shifter which replaces the stock plastic shifter tube with a three bearing all metal setup. There is no more shifter tube, just a bolt with 3 separate bearings and 3 metal spacers between them. Make sure you put locktite on the bolt!
Shifts are really butter smooth now!! Everyone should have this!
I paid $29 for the kit which comes with a machined piece that makes it a breeze to get the old plastic tube out of the shifter.
Its a no-brainer!
