New event at a new time of the year. This early Spring event will open up the SE calendar for more early riding by all of the southeast members. This is something that I've had in the back of my mind for a few years now, worked on some of the details, but just never could quite finish it up. I asked Randy Gardner to take it on, and he's worked out all of the event details perfectly. Since Randy lives in the area ( Panama City Beach), he's done a super job of pulling it all together. This will be a great venue with a theme.

Gulf Coast SECOG Spring Rally

Spring is a great opportunity to ride the Florida Panhandle and enjoy the fresh coastal breezes. Join COG Southeast in starting the spring season off with a visit to the Florida Panhandle's beautiful Gulf Shores.

The highlight of this event is the Naval Air Museum aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. Naval Air Station Pensacola is the Cradle of Naval Aviation and is the Navy’s oldest naval air station.  Admission is free to the museum with guided tours available throughout the day. The museum is the home to over 150 restored aircraft as well as timeless diplays chronicling America’s history of Naval air power. The largest theater screen in Florida is also housed here providing three IMAX theater productions. Additional stimulation for the adrenaline junkies is available in two 3D flight simulators. Sailors and landlubbers alike will enjoy experiencing this gem of the Florida Panhandle.

Dinner Friday and Saturday is included in the rally fee. Friday's evening meal will be traditional Navy ‘Rollers and Sliders’ chow. Saturday evening dinner will be a specially prepared Gulf Coast Boil and Gumbo combo to make you feel right at home on the Emerald Coast. Morning coffee will be provided as well as something to dunk into it. Rally fees are a nominal $18.00 for COG members, and $25.00 for all of our guests. This is a very reasonable rally, given the $5.00 camping fee and two meals and coffee daily included. All other cost including firewood and COG event insurance are included. A bargain for our SE members, to be sure.

We will have exclusive use of the group camping area for this rally. The group camping area is a primitive camp nestled among the trees and dunes with a dedicated bathhouse and showers. The campground also has 75 additional campsites available that have water and electricity hookup and can accommodate up to a 40’ rv. These sites are not included in the rally group and require separate registration. The group camping area has a fire ring with benches so the evening will be alight with a bonfire to enjoy the evening hours among friends new and old.

Fees for camping are $5.00 per day per person for the group camping area payable at the rally.

Come join us for a great Spring weekend on the Gulf Coast.
