IT Update: COG Forum Service Interruptions: We are currently experiencing intermittent difficulties with forum login and slowing; we appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this inconvenience. Our IT team has been diligently investigating the causes of these issues and has discovered that AI 'web crawlers' are overwhelming our server. While these crawlers contribute positively by directing more individuals to COG, their 'machine-learning' activity is currently exceeding the server capacities, resulting in technical failures and temporary lockouts. This is not an attack on COG, there is no risk to private information, and is a normal modern day AI learning activity that has resulted in problems for many sites similar to COG. We are investing resources, actively addressing the overloads to keep the forum accessible, and working to permanently resolve these problems.
