"The following words were not included in your search because they are too short, too long, or too common: oil, for, C10"

Is that really our search engine default??????

Tried several combinations with same result. Wanted a number to cross reference for what filter is available locally.

I haven't had much luck with the COG search feature . I use Google and it points back here most of the time .

A limitation of MySQL text search
Not my language or expertise. However a cursory internet look seems to indicate there are full text options. That if I am using what you stated "MySQL text search" to properly understand the term in Google search.

Oh this is a raising of hand. That based on what I in ignorance know of how things work. Do perceive this a fault in COG search box usability. Would seem C10, Oil, Etc would be essential terms for use of COG's archived data.

My question would be now. Can I personally minimise this problem on my end by my query semantics? Or do I trust Google search to point back to COG as mentioned often by other users here.

Do know this is a "bike" site and not a "software issues" site. Know also this is a volunteer run site. Do not wish to be a problem. Just I have used search a lot and it is not without issues of useability. Sometimes to point of my feeling either I or it to be useless.

I've had the same issues, but accept it as the limitations of our system.
ie; I'm not knowledgeable e'nuff to have an opinion..

What are you trying to find out? Perhaps some of us have an answer.

Ride safe, Ted

Ron is this an issue only on my end perhaps. Do you get anything with the query? Thanks for replies.
Lots of threads resulted. Maybe just ask a question? Someone knows about it I’m sure.

Maybe take a look in the Resources area and Chalkdust?

Hmmm... Should be able to combine smaller words into a search string. Try this, including the quotes: "oil filter"
