Smoky Mountains

Planning on meeting a few Army buddies next July at Ft Bragg for a weekend and then going to the Smoky Mountains for about a week. Looking for suggestions where to rent a cabin or cabins, depending on how many are going or a motel or lodge that's more of a country type setting. We don't want to be too far away from the Blue Ridge Parkway and won't be on bikes since we're flying in from Arizona. Thanks for the help.

I saw a few of these of those places you are looking for while riding the Blue Ridge Highway while in Asheville, NC last year. I am sure there are members of the SE region that can help find you some answers. :D

I think we (S.E.) members are in shock that they arent planning on riding. Id say stay in pigeon forge, that way u can have a vegas vacation but still be close enough to uder to the blue ridge parkway....lol

They can rent Harleys when they get there and realize what’s around there.

Pulled this up to see what's available. (There are many others under Cabin Rentals Smokey Mountains)
First thing that popped up was up to 75% discounts for last minute bookings. Might be worth looking into.

Ride safe, Ted

Thanks for the responses. Many families and kids are going so bikes was out of the question. We found a cabin to rent.

If you want to visit the BRP, check out this FREE virtual guide and trip-planning tool: https://www.virtualblueridge.com/

The southern end of the Parkway is at Cherokee, NC, a fascinating town with lots of lodging and lots to do, including an outdoor drama, living-history village, museum, and tourist-trap strip. Excellent and cheap local bus service. There is a skatepark for the kids and a casino for the adults. See this site as a starting point: . https://visitcherokeenc.com/#home

The BRP is beautiful however you travel! Enjoy your trip!
