Spring Fling 2023 South of the Mason Dixon Line - May 18-21

We are home In 7 hrs slab. Uneventful trip. Minimal traffic until CT.
It was a fun rally. Once out of the downtown area the riding is great in any direction... good riding in MD, PA, WV and VA. Great to see old and new friends. As usual, the club's motto "join for the bike, stay for the people" was in play.

Clyde and I pulled out a little after 7:00, and I got home ~12:10. No issues and smooth sailing. We pretty much ran at the posted speed limits on the back roads and the brief I-State sections. Figure the bike got close to 50mpg, but I'll know for sure when I fill it up tomorrow.

Nice event, and I got to see a bunch of folks I haven't seen for very long time, and to see some new. For the new, welcome aboard!

Only negative from a personal perspective, the Western MD Scenic RR wasn't running any steam locos for their excursion trains yet; not until July they said.

Anyway, trust everyone makes it home safe and sound.

EDIT: "Figure the bike got close to 50mpg.................. " 48mpg

For a '95, 204K bike, we're happy.

Had a great time! Saw a lot of people that I knew and met some that were new. As always, excellent roads whenever Jason and company plan things, spirited talk, cigars, beer, and some nice looking bikes to look at. Going home, I opted to ride north and west on Rt. 40, the national road to get to I-70, bad move, some sort of HUGE statewide or county wide yard sale thing going on Sunday, an hour to go about 10 miles. It was a parking lot.

I also had a great time, and rode two very memorable rides. It's even better when you are on Jason's wheel and he makes stuff up as he goes. One ride to Seneca Rocks and the other to a BBQ place near Raystown Lake. It was good to see everyone again, since I missed the Spring Fling last year.

Bodo, Mary and I stopped to visit Cogger Jack Frederick and Deb and stayed Sunday night at their cabin near Everett PA. They say hi, and are doing well.
