Stebel horn install

I’m starting my Spring projects and one is installing a Stebel horn that I’ve had in the closet since removing it from my ‘83 GS1100ED about 15 years ago. Never got around to installing it on the C-10 until now😝
I have all the parts and have printed out the instructions. Question(s):
C-10 has 2 horns, do I disconnect both?
Can I use an accessory plug that is available in the fairing?
Thanks as always.

Do not power it from the accessory leads!!! The horn will draw too much and can lead to premature j-box problems... I know i.lived it.

This is one of the reasons many of us have auxiliary fuse panels installed, to power the farkles.

Yes you will unplug both horns. That will be your horn trigger to the relay. YES YOU WILL NEED TO USE A RELAY.

Could he leave one of the stock horns attached? Just curious.

Mounted my relay(s) on a threaded fairing stay mount boss not used in the post '93 C10 models:

Hmmm... IMHO - if a relay is switching Stebel power from a fused circuit connected direct to the battery, there is no electrical reason to disconnect the OEM horns. The relay requires very little power to energize.
From where would be drawing the trigger, to activate the horn?
