To A Spec or Not

I need new tires as soon as the season starts. My last tires were A spec Angels. Are A spec necessary? I weigh about 175 and never take a passenger. When I do short tours, the total load is likely a tad over 200 with all my gear.
So the question is: are A spec tires worth $150 a set (CDN) more than non A spec Angels?  Will I notice a difference in performance? Longevity?

Thanks
Jim

I think you answered your own question.  :)

At your weight, and passenger-less, I'd say you probably don't need the extra weight load capacity that the A-Spec provides.

I've run both, I don't notice a huge difference in mileage or handling....but I do carry a passenger periodically, and I do put luggage and gear on when riding solo at times.

It IS a heavy bike, but I think you're good with the Regular spec tire for the money savings.

Here's some reading on that topic.

I personally don't run A specs. Just because they're harder to mount & ride stiffer. I'm most always loaded single, 2 up or 2up loaded. Hasn't been a problem yet & I've never had any indication they get better mileage.

I'm with everybody else, you're good!  :motonoises:
