Turn Signal Beeper

ncdave

Training Wheels
Anyone installed something like this? Have any info or links? I'm used to the self-cancelling signals on my Vulcan, and seems like a nice extra to have the beep to remind me to turn the signal off.

The flashing green light on my dash usually is enough of a signal. AKA "2linby" That's 2-lin-by folks! Well, all those years, I've been relying on the green flashing light for my Connie and most of my previous bikes. But once in a while (more often than I would like), after 15, 20 or more minutes, watching for traffic, dogs or whatever, I happen to glance at that green blinking light. Damn ! Again, I forgot to cancel the turn signal and I feel like a complete idiot. Next turn, I MUST remenber ! Joking aside, some kind of simple device to automatically turn off the turn signals would be nice. Any one has ideas ? Maybe some jockeying of the switch, having to keep it on for the duration of the turn, then letting go after the turn (

Dave, I had the same problem and added my own signal reminder, with a twist. I didn't want to sound like a truck backing up while I was waiting at a stop light, so I fed the signal through the normally closed contacts of a relay connected to the brake light. A couple diodes tapped into each signal, then a small beeper I mounted by the steering head, does what it needs. The beeper sounds only when the signals are flashing and I'm off the brakes. ..dz.. Another benefit I found....my rear brake switch needed adjusting! The brake light only came on when I really stood on the rear brake. I found this out when my signal beeper kept sounding while using the rear brake. 2003 Concours 1983 Honda Silverwing 2008 Yamaha Majesty (new) 2003 Honda XR70 (son's)

I bought one from Murphs. Real easy to install. It is loud enough to remind others riding with you to cancel their signals also.

Dave must be a common name in this post! ;) And can the forum have two people with the same forum name??? Or am I missing something here? ..dz.. (another dave) 2003 Concours 1983 Honda Silverwing 2008 Yamaha Majesty (new) 2003 Honda XR70 (son's)

Turn signal beeper, what next more chrome? :8o: As mentioned green flashing light and remembering to turn it off work well. And yes another DAVE.... Dave Muzzey St. Charles, IL COG#7957 '01 Connie

Hey , we could have a variation of Monty Python.... "Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave, and myself have come to sing a little song...." :p ..dz.. 2003 Concours 1983 Honda Silverwing 2008 Yamaha Majesty (new) 2003 Honda XR70 (son's)

I was thinking of a variation on the Bob Newhart show. Hi, I'm Dave, this is my brother Dave and my other brother Dave. :D

NCDave, I've had a beeper on for almost four years now. At first it bugged me a little but now I don't notice it at all except to remind me to turn off my blinker. Most of the time I turn it off automatically but there are times I don't. Who knows why. I think it is a good safety feature. The last thing I want to hear after an accident is "but he had his blinker on". '02 Connie COG # 6662 Dallas, Tx

That's always my concern too. I'm usually good about it, but sometimes I forget. My Vulcan having an automatic cancel has spoiled me!

I did mine the same way davedz did. For those of you who mock the idea, there are some valid reasons for it, so there ;). Mine is that I swap rides back and forth between my Concours and my Voyager, (which happens to have self cancelling signals). I never had an issue remembering to turn of turn signals on the Concours until . . . I got the Voyager. So the beeper was a solution to keep me from looking down and realizing yet again, that the turn signal has been on for the past xx miles.

How about a turn signal seat vibrator, ala CogZilla (I think)? Same principle as the beeper but silent and gives you a tingly feeling to remind you. ;) Jim #7353 Everett, WA Current Bikes: '06 Concours "NTRUDR",'84 Honda VT-500 Ascot Past Bikes: '02 Honda 919, '83 Honda XL200R, '81 Suzuki GS-750E, '69 BSA 441 Victor WB7JH - ARRL Life Member U.S. Navy Retired

How about a turn signal seat vibrator, ala CogZilla (I think)? Same principle as the beeper but silent and gives you a tingly feeling to remind you. You are kidding right? I hope so because most of the people around here would have the damn directional on all the time! Jeez!!! AKA "2linby" That's 2-lin-by folks! Or the wife/GF keeps saying.."Turn here!" ..dz.. 2003 Concours 1983 Honda Silverwing 2008 Yamaha Majesty (new) 2003 Honda XR70 (son's)

This will keep the wife/GF happy and you may be able to hook it into the turn signals as a reminder. http://viberider.com/ Pat & Sher in Ma. 04 C10 Dark Angel 87 Ninja 600rx

Not kidding! Seen with my own 2 eyes/felt it with my hand. I was afraid to sit on it though. 2006 National.

I have to admit, no self cancelling signals on the Connie shocked me at first. I was riding a '83 XV920 Virago with self cancelling signals and then I got my '06 Connie and surprise, no self cancellers. Got into the habit of watching the top of the guage cluster more (looking for green lights). Just strange that a bike that is 23 years newer doesn't have something that a basic Yamaha had.
