Well its been on the calendar awhile now. Campground space is reserved. No reservation for sites will be needed - plenty of tent space and room for a couple of RV's if needed. Dont know what we will eat but I am sure you wont go hungry.

Waukon City Park Campout

This COG event in northeast Iowa is located in Iowa's Driftless Area about 15 miles west of the Mississippi River. Iowa's Driftless Area is a place with rolling hills, stunning overlooks, and some of the most charming little towns west of the Mississippi.

Camping & Lodging
Camping and rally central will be at the Waukon City Park Campground in Waukon, IA. The group camping site is reserved and tent site fees ($20/day) can be paid to the city upon arrival - no further reservations needed for tent camping. The campground has a shower house and restroom facilities. Firewood is available free to campers.

RV camping sites are also available for $35/night (with water/electric hookup). If you're planning to RV, reservations are not required, but to guarantee a spot, call 563-568-0081 or 563-568-6420 to make a reservation.

Not into camping, no problem. The Boarders Inn & Suites is less than a mile away.

Registration is slowly growing for this event. Bump for attention.
 
I do not believe many of the attendees will be crossing the Mississippi from Wisconsin into Iowa but just so everyone is aware, the Lansing, Iowa bridge is gone. You will need to cross the Mississippi either at La-X, or PdC.

Last I heard/knew, they were running a ferry at the Lansing location. Will verify through WISDOT!
 
Good catch Kim, thanks for checking on ferry Leo. That was my understanding as well...but didn't know what river levels were either.
Looks like we may have a good turnout this year.

Yep, the ferry runs daily from 5:30 am through 9:15 pm. Takes about 15 minutes to load, cross and unload. No trailers or RVs allowed!
 
Looks like weather should cooperate this year! Low 80's for high and mid 50's overnight. Our luck wind will be same numbers lol
 
A big thank you to Scott and Lisa Coberly for setting up, working tirelessly and feeding all of us at this event. It was great to see everyone!

I really hated I had to miss this event; after attending last year I was looking forward to it again. Wife & I both ended up rather sick, she had been keeping a friends baby for a few days beforehand. Unknowing that the baby was sick beforehand or was just coming down with a virus. The baby turned out to have Para influenzas I believe is what it was called. At any rate we both caught it or something else & was the sickest we've been in years.

Scott & Lisa do a great job!
