Hello! I am a new owner/ steward of a 2004 Concours 1000! I have been riding 2,3, and 4 wheelers for the past 45 or so years and this is my first sport type bike. I've been riding a 2006 Honda VTX 1300C for the past 14 years and also a 2015 Honda CRF250L since 2018. I was at work one night looking over the interweb and saw a 2004 Connie for $1600. Did a quick 3 hour search for the rest of the shift and decided to go look at the bike the next morning. Ad stated it only "Ran on Choke", had 14k miles and was a complete bike, and, the ad was up for about 3 weeks... So, being a sucker for a good deal, and also a rescuer of motorcycles that no one else will save, I negotiate a deal of $1250 for a bike that I cannot hear run due to a rusty tank and someone had been into the carbs already because everything was loose. This was a Friday morning before I had to go to work. So Saturday I unloaded it from the trailer, got it in the shop and by Sunday evening, it was a runner! Flash forward a month +, I have done a carb rebuild, oil change, rear tire, gear oil, air filter, coolant change, fuel tank cleansing, replaced right mirror, and I'm sure I have forgot something or two! Anyway, my initial $1250 purchase, I have added at least $650 in parts and license/ Insurance to the total. Looking forward to many great miles on it! So far, the 6 miles I have put on it around my neighborhood has been amazing!
