I have a cycle Hill.I'd be interested. I could even change my own and a few others for part of a day. I think you may get busy. What machine do you have?
We have a Zoom meeting tomorrow and I'll make sure of the address they want things sent. I'll post it when I know the address.I would also be interested in getting tires changed at the rally. Where would we send the tires?
I do have a balancer. What is the yellow thing?I looked up the cycle hill and found it's made by Nomar. It looks basically the same. Do you have the yellow thing? Also do you have a balancer?
Keeps the tire from riding out of the bead.I do have a balancer. What is the yellow thing
Rubber is ripped on mine some but doesn't slip or mar the wheel.Yes, that's it. ^^^ I consider it a necessity when changing a stiff tire like a Dunlop or a Bridgestone T32. I've somehow torn the yellow rubber coating on mine and need to replace it. I'll buy 2 and bring one for you. I'll wait till you solidify plans to bring your outfit, so let me know. How is your unit mounted? Trailer hitch?
At home, mine is bolted to the floor. I am going to bolt it to a sheet of plywood at the rally.Yes, that's it. ^^^ I consider it a necessity when changing a stiff tire like a Dunlop or a Bridgestone T32. I have mine mounted on a 2x6 x3/4 inch plywood. When I use it I park a vehicle on one end. It works well but it did start to pivot on me so I also have a hole in the concrete where I put in an anchor. Use the same spot every time.At home, mine is bolted to the floor. I hope to have a few years left on the batteries in my tpms, but when the time comes I will be looking into this option. I will be interested to hear how it works for you...like probably at the Spider ride 🏍If a changer is available I am considering installing generic tire sensors at the rally.
I really like where this is going, thank you!If a changer is available I am considering installing generic tire sensors at the rally.
What do you think of buying (2) 8 ft long 2 x 12s. Cut one in half and scab it all together to make a 12 ft long 2 x 12. Mount the changer on one end and park BOTH front tires of your vehicle on the other end.At home, mine is bolted to the floor. I am going to bolt it to a sheet of plywood at the rally.
How will you get the tire over it without breaking it? Or am I missing something? If a changer is available I am considering installing generic tire sensors at the rally.
I have holes in my floor with anchors and bolt into that. It never moves. I haven't tried plywood yet, but I would think if you are standing on the plywood and pushing on the breaker bar it shouldn't move.I have a suggestion about mounting. After hearing what kzz has to say and seeing how much mine flexs at the concrete floor. I think I need to epoxy the bolts, but point is its straining heavily and the top side can move (lean) several inches.

I use a couple of small wood blocks to force the bead into the dwell. It works well and is really cheap, just like me.Keeps the tire from riding out of the bead.
Sensor is only 1" tall or the sensor can be snapped on the valve stem after the first bead is mounted. I read about it being done on the ZG/GTR forum. How will you get the tire over it without breaking it? Or am I missing something?
Ok that's what I was missing. The stock ones are maybe a half inch tall and barely squeak by the first bead.the sensor can be snapped on the valve stem after the first bead is mounted
I think you would be all right standing on it. Mine is only 2 foot wide and the tool is on one end so I am on the floor most of the time.I have holes in my floor with anchors and bolt into that. I use those as well. Need all the help I can get!I use a couple of small wood blocks to force the bead into the dwell. It works well and is really cheap, just like me.
If its a NoMar they replace them for freeRubber is ripped on mine some but doesn't slip or mar the wheel.
I think it is, doubt I have proof of purchase. If its a NoMar they replace them for free
This is why I asked. ^^^ Obviously, we can make our own arrangements, just never heard back on the original statement. I guess now we know.We have a Zoom meeting tomorrow and I'll make sure of the address they want things sent. I'll post it when I know the address.
I can't get that kind of tire life. But I will start with a fresh set. Thanks for the update.Certainly the easiest solution is put on new tires at the start of your trip. For the 2019 rally, I road from Cali to Pennsylvania, Rallied, then toured the upper Northeast for an extra 5 days and then back home - and still had 500 miles left on the P4GTs. Didn't have to worry about tire changes.
Just call them. They will give you a return authorizationI think it is, doubt I have proof of purchase.
Re: the possibility of having tires drop shipped to the resort/casino.COG doesn't really have an address to which you can send things. You are responsible for getting your bike, parts, tires and yourself to the rally. Sorry, but COG/Rally can't take responsibility for orders and deliveries for everyone.
Also - keep in mind COG and the Rally do not offer tire-changing as a service. Jim is doing this cause he's a good guy. You MUST make prior arrangements with Jim. Please don't show up just expecting him to have time or that you can use his equipment.
Here are some options:
+ Ship things to yourself at the Seven Feathers Convention Center after you've registered for a room, they'll hold on to them at the front desk and notify you. It needs to arrive within a day or two of your check-in (not sometime in May).
+ Ask a member that's driving/trailering to the rally if they have a little room in their rig to bring some items, parts and tires for you. Then have your purchases delivered/dropshipped to them for transport. You need to talk and make arrangements with them directly. (Transport Thread)
+ If you purchase from Cycle Gear online, you can have the items, parts and tires delivered to the "local" stores in Medford (1hr) or Eugene/Springfield (1.5hr). Then while out, at the end of a days ride, you can pick them up and bring them back to Rally HQ. (You can order the stuff up to about 3 weeks before the rally, and confirm they are waiting at the store, before you ever leave for the rally) -- Cycle Gear (Medford) also does tire mounting/balancing onsite every day (rim must be off bike - I've changed my rear tire in a Cycle Gear parking lot).
(We have a volunteer that has offered to make a car run down to Medford Cycle Gear one time during the rally and do a group pick up. This is something you will need to contact us directly about and make prior arrangements. And is not in stone yet)
+ There are motorcycle shops in Roseburg and Grants Pass where you could could call and order them, and have them waiting for you.

This is on the National Rally Site under Lodging. This is why I asked. ^^^ Obviously, we can make our own arrangements, just never heard back on the original statement. I guess now we know.

I think we can make this happen. The real problem is to find a place recycle it. I will check for a local place.Slightly related question - will there be tools/drain pans available to do an oil change? I would provide my own oil and filter.
I’ve got new tires being shipped to the facility. I definitely want to get a slot to have tires changed. I’m willing to lend a hand and learn whatever tricks of the trade on display.I will be changing tires at the tire workshop on Tues. from 3-5. Jessal will be showing how to mount a tire using wire ties. I've seen it on U-Tube so it must work. We will also show how to fix a flat and several different ways to break the bead. You can gain years of experience in this workshop.
