Pre-ride party planned Friday March 14th!

Many of us COGgers are riding with Dixie Dual-Sport from Bartow to the Everglades Saturday and Sunday March 15th-16th. The ride starts in Bartow early Sat the 15th. Saturday is going to be a long day of riding before we get to the Everglades. Many of you are travelling from far away and contemplating getting up early to ride to Bartow v the cost of getting a hotel room Friday night.  Well save your money. I live 30 minutes from Bartow on the east side of Winter Haven. Friday night March 14th there will be a bonfire going at my place. Some of my buddies who are going on this ride are coming over already, so what's another hundred or so guests, right?

Bring all your gear and favorite adult beverage and stay here Friday night, then Saturday morning we can all head over to Bartow together. Save the money you would have spent on a hotel and hang out with 'the crew' over my place. There will be enough room inside if you have your own air mattress and pillow, which you should have anyway for this trip. If you want to tent out back you may. I live on a pretty big lot and there's plenty of room for camping if you're not housebroken. Bring your favorite adult beverage and your chair, which I presume you will have with you anyway.

Then in the morning, I will be carrying rider's overweight luggage and adult beverages in the jeep. I will be pulling a trailer and picking up/helping out guys who broke down. Just put a post here to let me know you are coming so I can get a relative headcount on how many guys are coming Friday night. The address is:

Douglas Re
2901 Plantation Road
Winter Haven, FL 33884

The fire gets lit up around 8:30pm.

And put my cell phone number in your phone in case you break down. It is 407-791-1543

As kick ass as this could be, don't think I can swing missing the significant other for any additional days. Damn work!

Eat, drink and be merry!!  :beerchug: Just be able to carry my junk Saturday! May have to cut out early Sunday after lunch to catch a plane so I may be carrying said junk that day!

I can't make this one, due to business travel. I only have a few days in town this month and they are sacred to prep for a month in the Southwest.  The house sitter that loves my little place over his parent's is ecstatic.

You guys have a GREAT time!

Not sure where exactly in "The Everglades" you all are going (it's a BIG place). I live in NW Broward county, maybe I could meet up with you guys and/or give support if necessary.

Charles: Why don't you just come and do this? They do have a paved road route. And, we get 3 catered meals and a bonfire crew Fri and Sat night. There will be some Coggers and some DDS'rs here Friday, and this ride is sure to be loads of fun! DDS simply asks for $100 to cover the cost of meals and park pass....

Big mosquitoes ,don't know how those Seminole Indians did it back in the day before the casino, pick up trucks, bass boats and probably a Connie or two! May the wind be with u and the bug screen on you. Have a great time, sounds like a good time.

This weekend's forecast looks good. It calls for clear skies and perfect riding weather. There's about 20 guys coming for the bonfire and staying over Friday night. Dixie Dual Sport holds Round 1 of the AMA/Yamaha/Husqvarna National Dual Sport and Adventure Ride Series this weekend. In case you haven't heard, this is a fun group. They host some great rides. For just $100 you get fed two meals Saturday, breakfast Sunday, and camping costs are covered in Everglades National park Saturday night. They have two support vehicles to help with breakdowns/repairs. I'm driving one of those vehicles and I'm carrying your heavy luggage with a Jeep/trailer.

Lots of COGgers are long time members here too, including Al Norcross, Bill Whalen, Mike Dionne, Mike Laven. If you haven't signed up yet, there may still be time left: www.dixiedualsport.com

The fire starts at my place Friday night at 8:30. See you then!
