Here is a new device out on the market to help you keep track of the current state of your battery, and warn you of impending failure so you can replace it before it surprises you. It is advertised as waterproof and for use on both bikes and watercraft, so I suspect it is. Amazon.com carries it for about $50. Fred: There was a write up in GWRRA Wing World on this accessory by Stu Oltman. Pretty good theory of operation and Stu seems to think it is a Cats A** Kitten. Ride Safe and God Bless
 
It is a sound concept you could do yourself with a good fast voltmeter. Just watch how low the voltage drops each time you hit the starter. It gets to low its time to replace.
