First let me say. Don't let music or anything else distract you while riding. I have listen to it while riding for years. I have been searching to see if anyone has bluetooth stereo headset yet that I thought would work on the bike. I found a lot of them which is a good sign. This is one of the few that look like it could be made to work the way I want it to. http://www.shopping.hp.com/store/product/product_detail/KD031AA%2523ABA/1?jumpid=in_r329_personalization/browse1/home_PDP I emailed HP to ask if the headset unplugs from the receiver but not expecting an answer. Anyone seen this unit? Ones that would work with phone and music are out also but not many are bike friendly. ---------------------------------- I will answer any question. It is up to you to figure out if I should have.

Haven't used the unit but the description says that the headphones unplug from the receiver and can be used in other devices through a standard mini-plug jack. So it stands to reason that you could use other headsets with the receiver though it appears to have inline volume control.

Looks slick. If you use a GPS with built in MP3 palyer you could here music and traffic and directions through the one unit. 1990 Aint she a pretty Tomato (the bike ofcourse) wedshots albums http://community.webshots.com/user/sawfiler64/albums/most-recent

Bret I missed that wording. I need to go look again. Cool. Just found this also. It also might be a good one but not as cheap. http://www.chatterboxusa.com/cbxbiunit.html ---------------------------------- I will answer any question. It is up to you to figure out if I should have.

Dang chatterbox wants as much for just the transmit side as HP wants for both sides. http://www.chatterboxusa.com/cbag12-b.html They call the headsets HiFi but the ones I have used are not. They may have changed the design since then. I fixed that problem by building my own headset. I use the chatterbox DIN connector and mic but rewired in a socket so I can plug any headphones into it I want. ---------------------------------- I will answer any question. The HP set I posted above was by far the lowest cost for a transmitting and receiving unit and looks like the headphones may have a remote on the cord if you need it. I went ahead and ordered one with free shipping but had to pay tax it was $64.99. I plan to mount the receiver in my helmet with the speakers that are already in there and hope that I can plug the transmitter to my XM and still control the volume with the radshak control I use now. If I ever go to an Iphone or GPS with mp3 phone the receiver should work for that also. I will try to write a report. ---------------------------------- I will answer any question. It is up to you to figure out if I should have.

I received the unit above. Here is a short review. It worked Battery life is what it claims, no better then 8 hours and sometimes less. Range was right on what it claims, ~30ft Volume is not quite what I had hoped but was loud enough to hear with ear plugs in but just barely. That is what volume I use on the bike but others may want louder. Bad digital noise when used at home in quiet env. This noise output would make this thing useless for anyone that cares about quality. Wire coming from transmitter looks weak and could be a failure point. I was never able to test it with other blue tooth units like phone or gps. It hooked with my son's phone but we had to leave and I never heard it work. In the end its not much better then clipping a Nano type mp3 player to your jacket. You still have to turn things on and off, charge it. I did enjoy listening to my XM on the bike while I did a tune up with no wires attaching me to the XM but not sure I recommend this for any real bike sound system. ---------------------------------- South Central Area Director Email scad@cog-online.org

Has anyone used the IMC/Camos BTS 200? I have been looking at bluetooth communication systems and it seems like this has the best features. It is the only bluetooth that is A2DP (Stero) compatible. The Scala Rider Q2 looks nice but is not stero. Chatterbox has onlt PTT for intercomm, no vox. I want to attach my Blackberry Storm to it because it has phone, GPS and MP3 all in one. I emailed IMC and they said it works with my phone. If anyone has tried it please let me know what you think. Thanks, Roman 2001 Concours California
