C14 repair

DOLT857

Big Wheel
Hello I went down on my 09 today, will need repair all down left side I am curious if anyone has much I will need to watch out for as far as making sure everything is done right and if there is any work I should consider doing while they have it torn down. thanks

If you went down bad enough. They may total the bike if there's enough damage. My C14 had $4,200 damage just by falling over off the side stand!
The rear drive housing probably hit the ground. (look at the black cap way down under the final drive). The foot peg always takes a hit. Check the bracket and make sure there's no damage there. But here's the important part.
On the plastic. Kawasaki does not include the heat panels on the back side of the fairing parts. Make sure they are included on the estimate. My $4,200 damage didn't include them. It's a pain to go back for more from the insurance co.

My friends fell over in wind.  Check the mirror mounting bracket.  You will have to remove some plastic to check it.  It is cast and my friends had a crack.  Took a second to find it but it's another hundred bucks or so added to his tally.  It's going to be a pain to replace though.
