It is a clever design. How do you think it would ride at its largest capacity? Might detract from good MPG.
 
Me like longtime...
Having gotten one of the first Shad 42 L trunks way back when The Murphster got them in, I think I like the new one even more.. can carry more b/s and it looks like a lower profile.. all gooooooood.
 
Quick update on this case. It seems to be very stable in small/medium up to 90-100mph. Fully expanded its good to about 80 and holds a ceiling fan in a box :great:
