It does, but in a way like those old black & white safety films we had to watch in shop class.  :D    I've found that many of my students do not react well to tales of gore.  More respond with straight talk and logic. Some can't be reached at all.  I suppose that it is good to get the word out in as many formats as possible.  Maybe someone will be listening?

 
Respond and remember are two different things...  and you need both to be effective.

I had mine and can tell you that it would have to be an awful lot of money to do that again, especially on purpose. The pain lasted a long time after, and sometimes to this day!

Amen! I lost my ZX11 in an uphill 90% flat-camber turn headed up into Santa Clara Mountains to ride the ridge road to Alice's Restaraunt.

Came in too hot, dragged my knee, hung off, footpeg touched down, caught a ripple in the asphalt, broke off, all she wrote.... major low-side at 50 mph.

I'd take a low-side over a high-side any day, though. And yes, it hurt for months, and sometimes two places (one still scarred) ache when it rains. I'll never forget, and even though my ZX14 is quicker, faster, and better handling than my ZX11 was, I won't ever go in a corner hot on purpose again.

But I still wear protective gear, including the pads in the back and shoulders and arms, because I don't control anything else but my own motorcycle, and that might not be enough one day.
