givi tank loc compatability with 2008 / 2009

Has anyone had  success mounting the new Givi tankloc bag - it looks like the existing plastic glove box would interfere?
 
It will not work with 08 and 09. the glove box is in the way.
I built shims and raised the ring by 3/4. I was able to mount the bag - but, the raised ring prevented the gas cap from openning!!
the bag will work if you remove the glove box!
 
AZC14 - thanks for the info...I wonder if the dryer bag has a smaller ring?  Did u remove the GB andif so how does it look?
