I am going to pick up my 2015 on Wednesday. There is a 2nd seat (Kaw touring) and 2nd windscreen ( OEM) that I was hoping to bring with me. Think that is possible? or am I going to have to ship them? I can take some bubble wrap. The seat maybe sit sideways over passenger seat? not sure about windscreen? any ideas appreciated.

oh, any with experience taking helmet on plane? Southwest. I've read not a problem as carry on.

I picked up a C10 from a guy in the DC area and I live in FL

Flew up and rode it home

No problems with taking a helmet on plane, Southwest in particular

I did bring home a spare windshield that I just bungeed to the passenger seating area, I'm sure you can do the same with the seat

Take some or get locally:
  • Bubble wrap or towels to prevent marring of windshield or abrasion / cuts to seat
  • 6 - 10 adjustable bungees
Note for the 2015 year OEM screen if the flipper door was not moved to the new screen you will have some loose parts you’ll need to secure in one of the side boxes. Here again wrap them up neatly, the plastic facia seems rather delicate and you don’t want to scratch it neither.

Take a picture of your final creative packed configuration and do share.

I would not hesitate to strap all down and ride home - I am known for overkill in this area LOL.

I've hauled lots of things on a bike before. I've been known to strap a 44 lb bag of dog food across the back seat when shopping at Walmart. This time it was a blower from home Depot in Owensboro.IMG_0116~2.JPG
Just protect it well and take a variety of bungee cords and maybe even a roll of t rex tape just in case.

Nice Suzy Q by the way!

If you're not going for a specific look all those will strap to your new ride. Make sure you envision the various vibrating points and provide a sufficient buffer so as not to mar plastic, damage a saddle or otherwise.

Can someone tell me the dimensions of the oem windscreen on 2015+? I'm thinking bubble wrap seat. Lay across back seat/saddlebags. Bubble wrap windscreen and lay over seat. Bungie net or Cords to hold down. May be too wide to fit there? Bike has topcase so can't go over rack. Cound tilt windscreen upright leaning against backrest of topcase?

Don't have a stock shield on the bike so can't give you dimensions but have a thought.
The way I think you intend to load the windshield is sideways? if so the width would be the issue.
Seat should be EZ, and you may be able to lean the windshield against the top box in an upright position.

Ride safe, Ted

Yes Ted, I am concerned about width of windscreen. In my previous post maybe I wasn't clear but when I said lean it against topcase, I meant lean it upright.

Yo @hammerash did you make it?

Any pics, let us see that steed saddled with the spare parts!

Made it! He had seat wrapped up in plastic and put Styrofoam on some metal bits on bottom of seat. Then he had windscreen wrapped up separately. We put seat sideways with top facing me, then windscreen sideways in front of seat. Bungee on each side from topcase rack to rail beside passenger seat, and bungee nets. Stayed secure. But, I did get some damage to topcase. The metal pushed through Styrofoam and rubbed against the silver area of E55 topcase. Gouged it a little. About 1/4" wide. Not sure how to try to fix it? Fill it with something and then try to match up paint? Put sticker over it? Do nothing not that bad. I tried to attach file but too large. Will try later.

If you patch it with body filler made for plastics, you can repaint with Color Rite paint matched exactly to Concours colors. If time is taken to do it right, you won’t be able to tell the difference from new.

The blue bungee net was already off, then thought I should take pics. So put it on just to show how it was. Bottom was connected to and place as the green bungees

It isn't concours part so color rite won't work. It is Givi E55 Maxia. But the body filler should. My brother in law paints cars so I will speak with him about it. See what is best way to make it less noticeable without painting all the silver.

Interesting. I think if I ever have to do this I will but a cheap pillow to put behind. Bubble wrap is good but I think I will compress the pillow behind it.....and bungee the shit out of it.

Nice bike BUD.

I saw a bike that had a washing machine tied to it. So yes Bud anything is possible

I would like to see that. In my youth, I hauled a 20 foot 2x12 home on a 1984 Ford Escort to rebuild the deck on my house. The shadow cast looked like I was driving a helicopter! To be young and stupid once again….😂🤣
