Honda ST100

I have a line on a '92 model with 3300 miles on it. The owner is asking $3290.00. Seems like a pretty good price to me. Anybody out there have any experience with these bikes? One of the things I like about Connie is the ease of maintenance. Is the ST1100 easy to work on? Sorry the topic title should say ST1100. Thanks, Charlie M. I don't know anything about the ST1100, but I know there's people here who likely do. So I'll respond to bump. :)

I had a '90 for 10 years and 303 296 km (188 460 mi.) with no problem except for a rusted through gas tank that was repaired and coated inside by a car tank specialist, easy, the tank is under the seat, no apparent paint to take care of. Then a '00 for 5 years and 114 285 km (71 013 mi), with absolutely no problem. Both entirely similar, very easy to maintain and to work on. At least, no need to remove both mufflers and rear drive to remove the rear wheel ! Valve adjustment is different from the Concours, it's shims under the camshafts, but very easy to do, no cam chain to remove, just drop-in gears. And they keep their adjustment for a long time, on the '00, I'd never had to adjust them. If the condition is good, with this low mileage, the price should be reasonable. MCN quotes $3810 for a '95. Check the blue book at any dealer.

Well, either I'm too efficient or the forum is: my reply appeared twice at the same time. Where's the delete button? Can't find it.

Thanks for the replies. The bike got away from me. Another buyer was quicker on the trigger than me. The owner told me he sold it for $3000.00. The bike was pristine with only 3300 miles on the odo. I'm just sick about it. Oh well at least I don't have to come up with a really creative story about how a new to me motorcycle suddenly appeared in the garage. '02 Connie COG # 6662 Dallas, Tx

Sorry to hear that. But, as my wife is saying all the time, "Whatever happens is for the best". You did the best that you could.
