ICE and Bike don't mix

Tricycle
Just bought my 1987 beautiful C10, PO delivered it to the house, backed it off the trailer, rode it to the stop sign and back, turned to go into the driveway but had to cross about 2 foot wide snow patch. Bike zipped out from underneath me faster than you can say #$it. Less than a full minute on the bike and it hit the ground. What made it worse was the PO was standing right there watching his beautiful baby hot the ground under its new owner.

Wow that's terrible, Keith.  I haven't seen snow laying on the ground in over 30 years, but I still remember why it is I moved down here.  And your incident does qualify you for the CDA Award except for one thing.

You need to be a full COG member.  Don't worry, we don't make you drop her again after you've joined in order to qualify!  Most folks join if they hang around a while and like what we do here, so just drop me a line after that happens and we'll add you to the roster.

Just to avoid confusion, here are the instructions: How to Convert from Forum Subscriber to Full COG Membership

All you did was make sure the PO knew this was YOUR bike now.  ;D

Hope the bike is easily repaired and you are OK - C-10s take a lickin' and keep on tickin'

Damn, I thought this was going to be about Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  :rotflmao:

Yeah, you can expect it to be done quickly, but it doesn't always work out that way.  It's one of the downsides of having everything done by volunteers.  It took months for my renewal to show up.  Glad it's been done now.  Welcome to the club!

And so it has now become my sad duty to confirm you as the 532nd recipient of the uncoveted Connie Droppers Anonymous Award.  You have yet another tale to share around a Rally campfire.  My sincerest condolences!

The five most recent unfortunates:
0528 C10 Catrinus Wallet
0529 C10 Doug Belling
0530 C10 Michael Molohon
0531 C10 Frank Dunlap
0532 C10 Keith Toby

"had to cross about 2 foot wide snow patch. Bike zipped out from underneath me faster than you can say #$it."
My sincere condolences.

FWIW, CDA's were originally for under foot power or zero speed drops, this sounds more like an under way (no feet on the ground?) crash.  :-\
But then again, giving a numerical value to the number of times my C10 has been on its side isn't something I'd apply for.  ;D

That's why I'm here, Zorlac - to make those tough calls.

Drop definition:  List to be amended as needed.
1) Bike must be either at a stop or, if moving, then moving at less than 5 mph (aka parking lot speed).

In my (admittedly limited) experience, if you're turning into your driveway on a snowy road, you're probably moving at "parking lot speed" and I chose to give him the benefit of the doubt.  If you read through these things, you'll notice that a fair number of them are neither under foot power nor zero-speed drops.

Connie's a top-heavy beast and the idea here is to commiserate with one another.

Which is exactly what you did - thanks!
