Is there still a market for millerized pegs?

In opening my mouth while trimming my toenails, I might have stuck my foot in there. I'd offered to sell a used set of pegs to another member. I might have opened myself up to more requests since I can't find those used ones...and probably will make a new set....you make one, wanna make 2?...and 3...and 4.... I've had several inquiries over the past few weeks (actually since I stopped building them) about my pegs. I'm not sure if it's the increased use of motorcycles as daily travel (better fuel economy) or the lower cost of the pegs compared to others. I enjoyed building them, I just didn't enjoy the one set that tried to get me in trouble. Add that to a new job with lots of hours, it was just easier to stop and walk away. Is there really a market out there or is it just wishful thinking being egged on by a few e-mails? Show of pixels, is anyone still interested in these things? http://www.millerized.com

I am new, not familiar with your pegs. I am looking at Kneesavers; are your pegs an alternative? If so I may be interested.

Hey Jim, I've had some folks ask me about mine. They seemed disappointed to find they are no longer available. Bill actually bought a set from someone that had a set of your for sale because he liked mine. (Getting ready for the National and I forgot about that.) I have really enjoyed mine and they have made it possible to add extra miles to my day by allowing me to change positions or get a little more air on really hot days. They are really well made and actually saved me a bunch of $$$ last April when I had (an embarrassing) low speed drop. I'm a happy customer. :) Are you going to make it to the National? G

Jim, I was following the thread over there. You can put me down for a set. They are some of the finest highway pegs I've ever seen. They were all black if I can recall. Let me know,,I'll send you the $$. CT AAD COG #7011-A 2003 Concours-Mary Ann 1995 Honda Nighthawk 750 wifes

Jim, Having not seen these pegs or even getting an idea of costs, not sure. Would be interested in more information and then possibly ordering a set. Thanks, Robert Elliott Cornelia, GA 2006 C10 COG # 7598 CDA#0293

I too would be interested in seeing your pegs. My pegs, I don't know who made them, suffered a broken piviot when a gust of wind blew the bike over last fall and I have not been able to repair the pot metal where it broke. Do you have any pics of your pegs you can share? Thanks

Well, hell. Guess that answers that question. Well, barring materials not being on the market, I've put the web page back up so the uninitiated can see what they're getting into. http://www.millerized.com/pegs If there's something wrong with the site, let me know. It hasn't been up and running in a long time, and there may be a few things missing. I did update the thing a bit, but again, let me know if there is a problem. Please give me a few days to get the first of the materials back in, figure out exactly how I made these in the first place before you start filling my inbox with orders ;p. I'm going to TRY to offer something besides basic black on the brackets. Silver Vein, Gold Vein and Barney Purple I have, along with Lowes Gray, Home Depot Orange, and maybe a few others....if there is a market for it. This custom touch, as well as materials cost increases, are the reason the price went up since the last time. Still the Custom Chrome peg ends, still hand fabricated by me, and still don't taste like taco's or cheeseburgers. So, that said, let me know if you're interested, if you have any questions and any suggestions as well. http://www.millerized.com

Millerized, First, nice looking pegs! Unfortunately, I already have Murph's bars on my bike. What are the chances of adapting your pegs to clamp on the Murph bars? I broke my first set of pegs on them in a tip-over, and I'm not happy with the pegs that I have on them now. COG # 8062 AMA # 1084053 ROMA or Scarlet harlot acording to my wife

There is a clamp available to put the peg ends on the RIVCO/Murphs tip-over bars, but I don't know if they'll fit any of Murphs other stuff. I guess a photo is in order of what you're trying to attach to? Are you talking these: http://www.murphskits.com/catalog/popup_image.php?pID=104 My brackets don't adapt to anything other than maybe another brand of peg end with a 5/8" square adapter. Of course, anything is possible, just determined by price and market. Cruise through the Custom Chrome Catalog (loud pipes not required), specifically page 180 and item 19638. http://www.customchrome.net/icatalog/full.aspx?Page=180 If this is the type of clamp on that he uses, we can powdercoat them to your preference. http://millerized.com COG 6425, CDA 111 a through g

No problem, will be at Nationals next week, so it may be a project on my return. Robert Elliott Cornelia, GA 2006 C10 COG # 7598 CDA#0293

Jim, I'll send in my order after I'm back from the National. Can you do the peg itself in black also or just chrome ? CT AAD COG #7011-A 2003 Concours-Mary Ann 1995 Honda Nighthawk 750 wifes

I've got 12 colors on hand, and yes, I can coat the whole thing. I'll get the available colors up tomorrow. I don't have Frontpage on this machine, only downstairs. But, from Silver Vein to neon pink, Home Depot Orange to Lowe's Gray, I've got some interesting colors. Everyone ride safe this weekend. http://millerized.com COG 6425, CDA 111 a through g

All black it is. Probably do that to all of them, unless someone wants the chrome.....nawh, didn't think so. Mr. Postman let me down today, but I did get 3 sets of brackets welded up. Once I get the peg ends, I'll weld the ends in, and coat them. Replacement bolts for the ones you'll pull out have been ordered today, should be here Tuesday. Looking good for shipping before Friday. Please Mr. Postman... http://millerized.com COG 6425, CDA 111 a through g

I'm taking a break from the garage to let everyone know. Whoohoo! Peg ends are finally here. Teach me to order from clear across the country  I'm welding the 5/8" bar into the bracket right now. A hit with the grinder, and back in the sandblaster to disappear the grinder marks. We're taking tomorrow afternoon off to powdercoat and bake. IF I manage to get out of work on time tomorrow, these might ship Friday morning, but if not, Saturday for sure. Replacement motor mount bracket bolts came today as well. The stock ones are just short enough that I won't use them. The new ones are just long enough to make me happy. They come with a dab of stick Loctite on the end. This isn't goo, so don't wipe it off. It'll keep your pegs from falling off. Instructions have been printed out, and I've started burning an interactive CD on the installation. If I get it right, they'll be included. Pop it in, and look at what you're doin, without needin internet. Of course I'll still be including the printed ones, but the pictures are kinda small. I think it's gonna be a best seller. I'll be in the garage. :) http://millerized.com/pegs COG 6425, CDA 111 a through g

Ooops....I sent out the first sets without the "L" and "R" on the peg bracket. The "L" has the bracket hole towards the right side of the bracket, the "R" has it towards the left side of the bracket. They should hang straight down (pretty close to straight down) when they're attached. If they're not lining up right, try the other side. If not, crap....I screwed something up and we'll make it right. Pretty sure they're on the wrong side, tho. Oh, and the main bolt hole is gonna be tight because of the powdercoat. The bolt will fit, it just needs a bit of persuasion. And, yes, I'm stamping the ones currently on the bench. Sorry guys. But I have faith you're getting it straight without my help. Glad too see the "Skunk Works Shop in Inbred, WV" is back in business. Nothing better than a set of Millerized pegs. 1+ Kurt & Sue Nordstrom Spotsylvania, VA COG 6049/A VA & WV AAD's You can have more fun with girls than motorcycles, but they don't always go where you point um.

Glad too see the "Skunk Works Shop in Inbred, WV" is back in business. Nothing better than a set of Millerized pegs. 1+"" Speaking of Skunks....had one sneaking around the house last night while I was working in the garage. Guess he read the post and figured he'd stop by to say "Hi". He left us a present in the back yard. :gasp: He won't be back tomorrow night. I hope the 'possumz are hungry. Managed to get the existing compressor running enough to blast the current shipment. (amazing, you CAN use baling wire to fix anything, like make piston rings, you just have to keep them oiled well) None of the local stealers had the Ingersol/Rand 60gal compressor in stock, so I'll be driving a bit tonight to get one. Just can't trust my cash to Campbell Hausfeld anymore...or Horrible Fright for that matter. All current ordered sets will be out tomorrow with the afternoon pick-up. 10 more sets of ends ordered today, 78 sets worth of steel in the garage, and a new tank of welding gas. Looks like a long summer in the garage. http://millerized.com/pegs COG 6425, CDA 111 a through g

Well, I have installed my pair tonight. Just had to Dremel out the holes for the mount bolts just a bit since the bolts wouldn't slide through. They look great. Thanks.

Yeah...sorry about that

I'm pretty sure it was mostly powder-coating, but I'm sure I tried all the bolt holes after I drilled them. Again, I apologize. I've drilled the latest ones a bit oversized, to make up for the powder bushing. It's not really needing a tight fit since a little free play is ok, but tight is not right. Noted, corrected, I thank you for your understanding. http://millerized.com/pegs
