Made it to the Southwest

What kind of temperature differences have you experienced so far? What type of gear did you take?
Thanks

My C-10 doesn't have a thermometer so I'll just have to give you my estimate but temps were in the low 50's in the am in New Mexico and rose to the 80's in the pm.  The upper elevations were in the upper 40's to low 50's.  Even in the snow covered areas I was comfortable with a sweat shirt covered with a windbreaker and a mesh riding jacket as well as gloves.  Overall, pretty nice temperatures except when I hit the extreme high winds in Colorado coming off of the snow capped mountains.

Heading over to Utah this am (5-7-2016). :motonoises:

Be safe - have fun - never pass something you want to stop and see  :motonoises: on my first long trip I spent hours on the salt flats. Just standing and looking and feeling far from work and home. Nirvana. Enjoy  :great:

I'll try to check out the vids this evening

Spankin'  :great: You can spend 2 weeks in UT and not see all. Keep us updated. You going to try to get to CA? Idaho in 11 days!  :beerchug:

Utah is amazing! Worth the ride out here. My pictures and video don't do it justice. Am staying near Bryce Canyon tonight but I have trouble staying in one place. My Connie continues to be great except when in high altitudes. Should probably remove the foam block from the airbox if I stay in elevations above 7000 feet where more downshifting is necessary. Was at 9600 feet at Dixie National Park yesterday. Snow on the ground. Here's a picture of Connie there. I can't stay in one place so will be off somewhere else tomorrow. A real gem was Capitol Reef National Park!!!

Went from Southern Utah to Northern Arizona and over to the Navajo Reservation.  Incredible scenery! Then stumbled on a sign for Monument Valley.  Rode through and then over to Mexican Hat and then back to New Mexico.  Weather started turning bad and the forecast for the rest of the week was bad for the Four Corners region.  Decided to head home to Tennessee and arrived last night after a wonderful 18 hour ride.  :motonoises:

Videos of a slippery road from tar going toward Bryce Canyon in Southern Utah and Capitol Reef National Park, Utah (long video). The video did not pick up the colors as good as I saw them.

Here's a few more video's for anyone interested.  Highway going through Monument Valley headed from Northern Arizona toward Mexican Hat, Utah.  Also Highway out of Mexican Hat and highway heading South to link up to go back to New Mexico.

My Connie was indeed bullet-proof. The Winter maintenance paid for itself on this trip. The vastness of the area was overwhelming. Beauty everywhere I looked.  This was the trip of a lifetime and I'll always remember it.
