For those interested, the frame was shot yesterday. The color is Knock-Out Red, looks pink in some photo's, but it's red. More of a cranberry than a gas can red, but still red. I think I'm going with a red/gray color. Maybe a Massey Ferguson look?

Jim.....someone is going to get a very special motorcycle for just a little bit of effort on their part. COG is going to gain in membership numbers, and you'll be through winter before you know it. Thanks for all you do for our Concours Owners Group

Yeah Jim, When I read about that in the Concourier I thought that it was mighty generous of you! Now as long as no one remembers Groucho, we'll be OK. ;p "PLEASE ACCEPT MY RESIGNATION. I DON'T WANT TO BELONG TO ANY CLUB THAT WILL ACCEPT ME AS A MEMBER."

Zorlac: It wasn't all that long ago that I said that very thing, and left COG. Maybe old age, maybe bucket list, maybe incontinence or mental infirmity....but I came back. This is my pennance for leaving....or the mental thing...not sure right now. Ain't the incontinence thing, cause I keep a pop bottle nearby ;) More stuff coming, more "footage" this week/weekend as I blast and coat more parts, more excitement as someone gets to watch his bike being built from the ground up. You know me.....I'll be in the garage! http://www.millerized.com I'll be in the garage

Looking good, Jim. Can't wait to see it "up close and personal" at Tomah! Eddie BTW, glad you're back among the fold! COG Marketing Asst. Sanford, FL 2005 Concours 1969 Triumph Bonneville AMA# 686667 COG# 7073 CDA# 0136 http://picasaweb.google.com/Eddie753

Final Product. Subframe will be done the same color. Swingarm, fairing, radiator frames in Gray. Hell, I'm even going to coat the oil lines up front, the coolant pipes, the head, cylinders, starter, thermostat housing....anything that ain't tied down, gets coated. Just need to come up with a good color combo for that stuff.

That frame looks great. This is gonna be one sweet Connie when it comes together. '02 Connie COG # 6662 Dallas, Tx

More stuff in the oven, more stuff to go. Got a lot more to go. A few large items need stripped (radiator and fairing frames, swingarm, forks and rims) before I can coat them, but the majority of the small pieces are ready to coat. The time consumer will be the huge box of bolts, nuts and screws that need the heads done. Oh, and I gotta rebuild the motor after I coat it. Wow....and to think I only have 3 months, 8 days, 8 hours, 50 minutes and 45 seconds til I leave.... I'll be in the garage! Oh, the rotors get done tomorrow night...they're just taped up before I shoot them.

I hope you're having fun, cus that's a butt - load of work you've gotten yourself into. Thought you'ld like to know Murph generously donated the carb rebuild kits,so when I slow down abit they'll get to looking like carbs again. Steve

Schweet! When ya inevitably bust a knuckle (like on that ^%$#@ coil ground tang) the blood'll blend rite in. ;) 01 Conc, Mijami Floriduh OTP 06: http://tinyurl.com/2vk9o2 route map: http://tinyurl.com/4p7pmd

Meh, it's just fun stuff. And since I hate my day job, the only work release I get is in the garage. I could conceivably wait until the first of July to do ANY of it, and still be done and done 95% right. A month and it'd be 99.999% right. Any longer and I start losing points. I'm just spacing it out over time cause I've got so much other work going on. Greenhouse, firearms coating, dreaded yard work and this supposed riding season I keep hearing about. Add to that the health issue...and we're right where we need to be. Bunch-o-parts went in the oven again last night. Some exhaust parts got high-temp powdered, while others got shiny black brackets, clamps, discs...the list is endless. Tonight the new gun gets christened with an Emerald sparkly clear topcoat on a few select and visible items. Forks got stripped down last night, the lower tubes are soaking and will get stripped of paint tonight and coated this weekend. I've got 4 payong firearms that are going to take prescedence in the oven and booth tonight. Gotta make the money first, and play second. More photo's as I get them up! (Oh, THANKS MURPH!!! THANKS STEVE!!! THANKS REV!!! and the others who I haven't heard from or received the stuff yet) http://www.millerized.com I'll be in the garage

Another oven full right now, doing the bake off. We'll start coating that stuff tomorrow night. I'm running out of room with all these shiny parts in boxes. Bit of a teaser with the discs. Emerald Illusion, kinda black until the sun hits it the right way.

More black out of the oven, the top coat starts this weekend. I figure Sunday the oven will run all day....I probably should have ordered a bunch more clear coat.

Looks really nice Jim. What brand of clear coat are you using? The reason I'm asking is that most of the clear coat that I've seens to turn yellow over time especially when you are trying to apply it over aluminum parts.

2 types of clear. While the black doesn't need one, the extra layer gives more protection from scratches. Plus, the Emerald just adds such a different look, I can't NOT use it. A layer across the top of the Emerald adds a depth you just can't describe. The 2 clears are http://www.columbiacoatings.com/Columbia_Coatings_p/s1799014-1.htm and http://www.columbiacoatings.com/Illusion_Emerald_TGIC_p/u1699001-1.htm They are both fuel and oil resistant, so the normal leakage of a Connie shouldn't affect her appearance. The newer coatings have some inherent UV resistance. Combine all the new technologies and you get a pretty dern stable coating. I'd been buying powders from a lot of different locations, but Columbia has had the better quality by far. A pile of the stuff I got over the years claimed to be virgin powder....but like most virgins I'm a bit leery of their historical claims. Now Columbia is the only company I deal with. Order on Monday, receive on Thursday. A set of original millerized powdered pegs with a clear sat in my back yard for 4yrs...no yellowing. Although they lost a bit of their gloss, a quick shot of wax brought them back enough I wouldn't have been ashamed to put them on the bike. I've put almost 6lbs of powder through the guns and onto THIS Concours parts so far, and probably 4lbs of clear left to go. There's also some ceramic I hope to shoot on the headers before we're done. The exhaust shields, and probably the cans, will be high temp black, either gloss or matte. http://www.millerized.com I'll be in the garage
