Hi all,

Recently registered for the COG-site for the South Central area as my girlfriend lives there. Ride in the Netherlands the european version of the Concours since '93 when I obtained my first '91 Candy Persimmon Red C10. Since '09 I also have a Moondust Gray C14.
Most of my rides so far with the GCE I have made on the C10.

Been looking into renting or obtaining a bike in deep South-Texas, but I'm afraid it will just be too damned hot to drive. And also I have not found many places there to rent a bike.
Saw a bike however listed on Craigslist in Harlingen,TX , but didn't have a look into it.

Hopefully in the coming years I will spend more time over the pond and hopefully can join some of the COG events.

Greetings from Holland,

John

Hi John from Holland.
I am in Austin, Tx and can help you search for something if you like.  Did you just want to rent?  You can get a C14 in Dallas for rent I think and you could drive down from there.  I am not sure about San Antonio which would be much closer.  There are also COG members that might be willing to let you ride their bike for a weekend or something.
As far as weather.  It has been hot.  Winter have some of our best weather days for riding and of course some of the worst.  You have a better chance of nice days in Oct-Dec and March-May.

Nice C10 for sale in Austin.  It is posted here on the forum in the C10 emporium section.

I believe in New Braunfels is also place to rent a C14. Will be there again for two weeks in december, so might look into it. Only if i do I'd better brake on time as crossing the border to Mexico is not allowed. ;)
Dallas is indeed a bit far, approx 9 hours of highway one way.

Plan so far is to bring my own bike in the future. Meanwhile maybe look for a cheap C10 or so.
One thing for sure i will be cruising there one time :)

John
