No Jack Front Tire Removal

I don't know how many times I've taken the front wheel off of one of my motorcycles, but I finally got smart and did it without a jack, hoist, stand or sling from the rafters. I went to the hardware store and bought some of these. http://images.lowes.com/product/092097/092097501263.jpg After drilling a couple of holes in my floor, I installed them and then screwed a couple of eye bolts into them after putting the bike up on the center stand. I parked my bike between the holes first, because I didn't want to trip over eye bolts while pushing a heavy bike. I added a tiedown strap and an old pillowcase to the mix, and the next thing I knew the front tire was hanging in the air.

I should mention it's a good idea to loosen all the fasteners and axle hardware before pulling the back end down.

Now that's pretty slick! I like it. I've got to put in the anchors for my tire changer I've had for 3 years now :gasp: I'll add a couple for that, Cool Potatoes

I like this approach! I do about the same thing on my bike lift by using two tie-down straps from the grab rails to the bottom of the lift. It works the same way. I have to take off the fender though I think.
