Rear Tire ?

Stock rear tire is 190/50ZR 17, will a 200/55VR 17 tire fit the rim and clear the swing arm? The bike has 6000mi. on it and the back tire is about gone and I'm tring to replace it with a higher milage tire for next summer's trip witch will be 8000 to 10000 miles long. Thanks, Ted
 
8,000 to 10,000 miles is a lot to expect. Don't know about the tire size swap. My gut says stick with stock. Just my $.02 UP
 
I've found better handling if I go DOWN a size - from 180 to 170 on my ZZR1200. I did use a BT-021 rear and put 9k on it with maybe 4k left to spare when I replaced it. Beware though, the BT-021 fron tire is a POS and I will never buy one again! I have PR2s with just about 10,000 miles on them. I would guess around 3000-4000 more to go. I will replace them just before Nationals. Plan to ride from Atlanta over to Asheville, NC and run up the Blue Ridge Parkway, North to Syracuse NY, over to Niagara Falls, up through Toronto, Canada to Sault Ste Marie and down to Tomah, WI.
