sealed wheel bearings

I am in the process of replacing the front and rear wheel bearings. I understand sealed bearings are the way to go. The only question I have is are the bearings already pre lubed or do you take them appart, lube them, and then reassemble? Thanks, Pete

Peter. The bearing are sealed, therefore you do not need to lube them. This being said, once the bearing are installed I do apply a liberal amount of grease to the outside of the bearingand the axle as I pass it throught when I re-install the wheel. I figure anything to help keep water out the the bearing will help.. AKA "2linby" That's 2-lin-by folks! COG #5539 AMA #927779 IBA #15034 Team Oregon MC Instructor
