South West Activity

you mean there are more members here in the southwest besides me? I have given up on getting anything going here.. usually try to meet with the south central guys. if all fails can we do something un-offically? where do you live? Ted Proud to be American! I live in Bakersfield. I am glad to see that someone is out there also. I came from the NE region. They are VERY active up there. I guess it is because 4 months the bike sits idle. Out here in California the bike never sits therefore the folks must be a little casual about gathering for a club event.

If you get up to Sacramento some time we have a meeting the first Thursday of the month at 6:30pm at Brookfields Restaurant located at the Madison Ave. exit of I-80. We also usually have a quarterly wrenching session, a monthly ride, and a several overnighters a year. One of the other guys from the group and myself have made plans to attend the National Rally this year and we were at the National last year. This little map thing at the bottom here is liable to be pretty colorful by the end of the summer. 8^) DRW Sacramento Area COG #7575 '06 C-10 '09 C-14 (Red)

Plan something and they will come. If you are willing to do something "unofficial," then why not get it onto the SW calendar of events and open it up to all. This is a grass roots, member driven club. I challenge all members to get involved. What's the worse that can happen... more activities on the schedule than folks can attend? :) -- Steve Smith, COG #3184 COG Northeast Area Director (somewhere in south central CT)

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

Are we talking about riding ? I am in NM end May. Also like to join the 31th of May the Devilshighwayrun from AZ riders. I may have to be in Flagstaff the 31st of May. Ride safe. Harry

Hey guys, I want to get things cooking here in our SW area or even more specifically in this area. I also would like to encourage you guys to maybe make flyers etc to take to your kawa dealers and put up there to promote our club get the info out there for other connie riders. I'm doing the same here. I'm seeing more and more, especially C14's, out here, so I know there are more people here riding connies. I would like to get your input as to where and when you all would like to get together to do a weekend / or day ride. I like Red River (Taos) here in New Mexico, another awesome ride is from Clifton, AZ to Alpine, Az. Zion National, Sedona AZ, Salt River Canyon are also great places to go and ride. Here in my area we have a 40 mile highway of a Twisties going through the Black Range and then toward Gila Cliff dwellings or silver City. I'll try to make the Mt. Shasta ride in September as well. If anyone else from this area wants to go and hook up, let me know. Thanks Ted Proud to be American! (since 2005) Lost and found in 1991 2008 C14 "Freebird"
