Stalling problem

I'm relatively new to my '06 Concours and have a strange, intermittent stalling problem. The typical situation is I've arrived at my destination, put the bike in neutral but leave it running as I maneuver to park. When I put it back in gear (still running) to move forward again, as soon as the clutch starts to engage the motor dies! (not due to lack of rpm either). Restarting and trying again results in the same behavior. It must be shut off with the key and restarted before things work again as expected. Anyone know what is going on here?

Neil, Could be several different things. I'd start with chekcing your clutch switch and connections and your side stand switch and connections first. Could be something simple like a wire being disconnected.. AKA "2linby" That's 2-lin-by folks! If the side stand is down then that is what the bike should do. It is a safety feature. If the side stand is down and the bike is in gear then as soon as you let the clutch out it will die. If the side stand IS up then the switch is not working correct and needs to be cleaned or is bad??? since its an 06. Do you drive on cruddy roads a lot. ---------------------------------- I will answer any question. It is up to you to figure out if I should have.

I'll bet my ignorance of the sidestand switch is the problem. Most likely, as I'm parking, I've already got the sidestand down while fine tuning my park. I'll test and report back - thanks!
