The Springfield Mile Flat Track - Labor Day weekend Double Header

I used to love the big three. Springfield, IL, Du quoin, IL and the fairgrounds (Indiana State Fairgrounds). The pictures are of our USAC Champ Dirt Car in approx. 1979/1980. Driver unknown. The other pic is of our crew and driver after winning the Hoosier sprint car race at the fairgrounds,1982. Ronnie Shuman drove that day. Our regular driver for both the sprint car and champ car was Joe Saldana.
40 years ago, seems like yesterday. I threw in one of me in 96, just for good measure.

I hope to see a flat track race at one of those sometime. Probably Springfield, I'm not sure if the other 2 are still functioning.
