Did first ride to work this AM with the elecric gloves and Jacket. 40-42 degrees and light drizzel. Not knowing what to expect, I set the controler (I used the same controler for jacket and gloves but they will run seperate) on Med. Had to switch to low before I went 1 mile at 25mph. this was done easily with the gloves on and while riding. Got out of town and up to 55-60mph and was toasty warm. Freeway at 70-80mph still very comfortable I was wearing the jacket under my FirstGear Killi and over a Duofold turtle neck and light Tee shirt. It was deffenently warm in city traffic, but good above 50 or so. Negatives: The pigtails for the the conections to the bike and jacket-gloves are stiff and heavy wire, like the old "2 wire extention cords". Now my legs feel chilly even in my FirstGear Hypertex pants. Not bad though, just didn't notice it before from being chill in torso and hands. Time for the fairing extenders people are talking about I guess. I have no other experience with heated gear, but would recommend this setup so far. 1990 Aint she a pretty Tomato (the bike ofcourse) wedshots albums http://community.webshots.com/user/sawfiler64/albums/most-recent

Second ride this AM: 34*, Started on medium again. Toasty warm even up to 75 mph. Acutualy swiched back and forth between low and medium several times. Getting used to the conecting wires, not as akward as first time. Can't see ever needing high as I will not ride below freezing, if I have a choice. Years ago I rode a honda SL350 in snow on the highway, but like to think I'm smarter than that now. 1990 Aint she a pretty Tomato (the bike ofcourse) wedshots albums http://community.webshots.com/user/sawfiler64/albums/most-recent

What's the power draw on these? What other electronics do you have running simultaneously with these? Or, I guess I could just get to the point, are you monitoring the power? Noticed any battery drain?

The only extra electrics would be my Garmin. No, I'm not monitoring nor noticeing and power drain. I did have a battery problem before I bought them, but it was selfinduced low water in the battery. Hadn't checked the level since I bought the bike in Feb. Not down to the plates yet. Just topped it off and charged it with a battery trender for a couple of days. Seems to be handling the load ok. 1990 Aint she a pretty Tomato (the bike ofcourse) wedshots albums http://community.webshots.com/user/sawfiler64/albums/most-recent

The stock deflectors on the lower fairing can be reversed. Unscrew them and turn them around this deflects a considerable amount of heat back to your legs. I did this last week and it helps a lot.

Took those off last spring at wrench session and just left them off. I am thinking about putting them back on though. 1990 Aint she a pretty Tomato (the bike ofcourse) wedshots albums http://community.webshots.com/user/sawfiler64/albums/most-recent
