Starts in Wales, WI, pick up people along the way to the west side of the Mississippi.
Lunch at the Marquette Bar and Cafe.
Then down the Great River Road, overnight in Savannah, IL, breakfast in historic Galena, IL, return on Illinois side kind of back the way we came, kind of.
Sunday treat stop in New Glarus, IL. Not the Spotted Cow kind.
- Lots of miles on great country highways, back roads, with scenic views all along the way.
We plan to take in a roadside attraction or two as well.
There is a scenic overlook of the confluence of the Mississippi and the Wisconsin Rivers where weddings pictures are often taken. Plenty of eagles soaring above the river bluffs can be seen.
