I know it's a long time until we head for the National, but we're already making plans for the trip.
I can't hardly stand the wait!!! I wanna go.
Really looking forward to this as I understand Colin and his team have a great Rally planned.

Wondering if anyone else will be traveling to Idaho Falls from Houston or South Texas area?

Ride safe, Ted

Hey,,, (OMOAC) I keep tellin' ya,,,, it ain't fer sail...
Unless you bid really high!!    ;)

Speakin' of Raftin',,, If anyone's interested,,,,
I have 2 discussions goin' on a group raft trip down the Snake River (leaving from Jackson Hole) .
Always room fer more rafters!! (even OMOAC)

NOTE: When we return home from Idaho, I think our group is gonna do a few days in Yellowstone Natl. Park.
While there we hope to Raft a short section of the Yellowstone River, and ride Chief Joseph Highway.
PS:  1 of those nights we plan to stay in Old faithful Inn.
I booked rooms in the park last week as it is hard to find openings.....

(anyone interested)?

Rev, we need to talk. When do you thimk you will leave Houston area?
Man, I caint' wait fer this one. I are excited!!

What's the hous bid up to now??????? Last I checked it was almost a full 6 pack :-\

I am sorely tempted by the rafting, just not sure I can put up with a long ride in something I'm not driving. That Yellowstone Lodge (the old original one) is one of my favorite buildings. Simply amazing craftsmanship which would never be allowed to be built today. Might have to swing in on the way back to Minny Sota.

I think it was a 12 pack. Just the cans though. The contents mysteriously evaporated.  :) Ted's 2 much fun.

I'd bid a 12 pack of empty Mickey's cans, a duck call, AND a half empty pint of Sailor Jerry.  I've seen Ted's house so I'd hate to see it go too cheap.

Damnit. I think you got me with the duck call. Let me dig through the recycle pile. I think I got 10 ft of 1 ought copper wire in there. :))

Geez, you guys are having too much fun. (at my expense)

On the Yellowstone Raft Trip we're going to "only" do the short ride (3 hours or so) . For some reason the boss wife veto'd the long ride with waterfalls etc.... (No sense of adventure)  ;)

OK Ted, we'll play nice and quit pickin on ya...... :D :D :D :D :D :D

So what are the details on the Jellystone rafting ride?

OMOAC sed; Heres the route I bounced off of Ted.  http://goo.gl/maps/dkQQT

Mucho thanks for the map. That is the route I plan to use for us to go to the Raft Extravaganza in Jackson Hole while we're at the National.
If anyone hasn't heard about it go to the Rafting Discussion.

What Rev was asking was whut is the info on the Raft Trip I might make after tha National at Yellowstone. (on the Yellowstone River)
On that, I don't have a final details as we're only considering it right now.
I contacted the rafting company (Flying Pig) and found out that there are raft rides in varying lengths.
We're looking into a short 3-4 hour trip.
It starts at Garner, near the North Entrance to Yellowstone.
I booked rooms in the park close to the North entrance for Fri and Sat night. Then I booked a room at Old Faithful Inn for Sunday night. (I can supply the address to book rooms later).
In both cases, the only rooms that are still available are the primitive/basic room (without private bathroom. Have to use a common bath down the hall or across the courtyard). (Biggest concern is Bears)
