This year at the 2018 COG National “The Three Sisters” Rally, we plan to have group rides.  The Rally Committee believes group rides are one of the best ways to bring first time attendees together and hopefully integrate them in with the more long-time attendees without them having to go through the awkward cold approach of having to ask to ride with someone.

Scheduled group rides will be on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the rally.  When registering, registrants will be asked if they would like to participate in group rides, if they mark “yes”, then one of the rally staff volunteers will contact them prior to the rally and discuss with them the day(s) they would like to sign up for.  Attendees will also be able to sign up for group rides during check-in at the rally.

We would like to keep the ride groups to a maximum of 5 bikes, but that could change depending on the number of folks that sign up.  Our intent is to keep the groups small because we do not want anyone having to participate in a bike parade.

The plan is for all participants to meet in the Hospitality Room at a designated time on the morning of their ride.  Participants will be introduced to their group, and then each individual group will decide what route or ride they would like to do.  We hope to have enough volunteers to host each group, but depending on the number of participants, we may have to ask one of the group’s members to host.  Hosting one of these rides is not a big deal, all it really means is that after the group decides what route they would like to ride for that day, the host will be the one who will ride up front and navigate.

We know there are many long-time rally attendees that meet up and ride with friends at the rally.  We are asking, if you are one of these groups of friends and are willing to have one or two first-time attendees join you and your friends on your ride, please contact one of our ride coordinators and they can make those arrangements.  In our opinion, this would be a great way for our more long-time rally attendees to welcome first time attendees without having to give up time riding and socializing with old friends.

We are also seeking volunteers to host some of the group rides.  This does not require intimate knowledge of the area.  If you are able to read a map or GPS and have some experience with group riding, then you are qualified.  If interested, please contact one of the Ride Coordinators.

Rally Tire Service.

If you think you will need to replace a tire(s) at the this years national rally, there is a local dealership that is located near rally central and the camp ground.  Like most dealers they do not keep a large stock of different brand tires, so if you know you will need one or two tires and want a specific brand of tire, you can contact them and preorder one or two.
