Hi Everyone, I'm a new rider (got license 4/20/08) who started this sport to keep up with my Spouse. She had always wanted to ride, got her license last Fall, found a fabulous deal on a nearly-new Honda Shadow 750, and this year said "Hey, why don't you join me." So I did. She and I are also both private pilots, but are not "current" at the moment. This is the next best thing, and I'm having a blast. Right after I got my license, I researched styles and types of bikes for HOURS on the internet. I decided on the sport-touring class, and in the bang-for-the-buck department the Concours seemed the way to go. I checked Craig's List and immediately found a '99 Concours in fantastic shape for a great price. I rode it on 4/23 and bought it on 4/24. I immediately fell in love with the bike and have been riding almost every day, weather permitting. In my first two weeks riding, I rode in sunshine, 30 knot winds, rain, and a freak snowstorm; you gotta love Springtime in the Rockies! Then I found COG and was thrilled! The support here has been incredible and I'm looking forward to making my own contributions here too. It was a little weird trying to figure out the difference between the websites and what's going on with the Forum, but I read all the stories and think I pretty much have the picture. Hopefully this will all work itself out soon with a minimum of hard-feelings. I may be able to carve out some time during the week of Nationals to ride the 4 hours to Frisco from Colorado Springs so perhaps I'll meet some of you there. Cheers and Happy Riding!
