I need all the air I can get but want to feel safer then the first gear meshtec or what ever it is I have now. Anyone feel they know they have found one that passes as much air but they feel safer in? ---------------------------------- I will answer any question. It is up to you to figure out if I should have.

Bob, I agree that my FG mesh has limited impact protection. Idaho Bob and Ronnie Lyons are using the Cycleport (previously called motoport) mesh clothing that has the better safety construction/materials: http://www.motoport.com/Jackets/index.asp Spendy tho, similar to the cost of mt 'Stich I recall. I have seen the site but not the jacket. I would not spend that kind of money without living in it :) Liners are almost another $200. Geee I am worth it if they are all they say they are. I know kevlar is good stuff though. You could to this thing where you use nomax and kevlar, You could slide forever. It will never protect you from the end of the slide though. ---------------------------------- I will answer any question. It is up to you to figure out if I should have.

I have a motoport jacket and pants. The Ultra Air II is great. I get great airflow and protection. I did about a 40mph lowside with the jacket and pants. I had some tearing on the pants below the thigh pocket but other than that, there was no damage on the rest of it. I walked away unhurt. I have a Gerbing Electric jacket that I use instead of their liner.

Does it get hot in the sandy eggo? Like yesterday here it was 98 and >50 humid. But it was the 9th record braking day in the last month. If this keeps up I am not riding after 11 am the rest of the summer. Wait it aint summer yet. ---------------------------------- I will answer any question. Whatever you go with I highly recommend a light color. Especially noticiable at a dead stop. When I replace my JR non mesh I'm going with hi-vis. Greg COG # 7010/7010a (Tracey) CDA 0120 Connie Droppers Anonymous Awards Dude (CDAAD) 99 Connie "Herrin Christabelle". 05 Ninja 250

You might consider the Vanson Vent Max 3 here: http://www.vansonleathers.com/product_pages/jackets/vx3.htm I picked up one recently. I have only had it in temps up to 85, and with my mid-height rifle shield it does well while moving. Course its warm when stopped, but even t-shirt or long sleeve shirt is! I looked at several other mesh jackets and it seemed best for high temps. Feels comfortable and seems like nice quality. Lewis

I have the Olympia mesh jacket and pants. Way cooler than my Tourmaster Fusion jacket in warm weather. Comes with a liner and would probably be ok in cooler weather but since I have the Tourmaster I use that. I chose the silver jacket but went with the black pants. The armor in the jacket seems to be real good and I feel very protected with it but the pants are kind of loose and I wonder if the armor would stay in the right places if I have a get-off.

I have had a white Cortech GX mesh jacket for several years. It is great, as far as I am concerned. My buddy has borrowed it on two of his coast to coast Iron Butt rides, so he must think it works too. I chose white because this is the desert out here and I hoped it would be noticed a bit more than a darker color. Olympia now offers a fluorescent yellow jacket very much like mine. I think it also comes with a rain resistant liner. Were I to buy a new one, I might consider this one. raulb 2003 Connie "It may not be smart or correct, but it's one of the things that make us what we are." --Red Green, "The New Red Green Show"
